Introducing Brand New Community - Hive SEO

in Hive SEO3 years ago (edited)

SEO is the heart of any website. If you want to get maximum exposure from your website, you have to do Search Engine Optimization for your site.

Hive SEO

And this is the term we neglect most of the time. We are just writing content and doing lots of other kinds of stuff, ignoring SEO. Whereas in this present digital marketing world, only SEO can increase your content and website's value.

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

SEO indicates how well your website is doing or how well the position is in the search engine result pages (SERPs). It is a way toward making a site simple to discover, simple to crawl, and simple to rank.

SEO optimizes the contents and websites to show up in the search results in the search engines like Google. The primary focus of SEO is keywords - they play a vital role in Search Engine Optimization techniques.

So why is it important?

It is essential because SEO helps your customers discover your business from thousands of different companies and enterprises. SEO is a core part of any digital marketing strategy.

SEO focuses on what people search for, so if you have some ideas about SEO, you can make changes to your website without any help. If two websites sell the same thing, the search engine optimized website is more likely to have more customers and make more sales.

Even if you're not an SEO expert, some basic SEO knowledge will help you ahead of your competitors.

Why I created this community?

My target is to let the content creators know more about SEO's benefits to implement their SEO knowledge to their content. I aim to enlighten more people who want to get maximum exposure from their content.

Hundred of articles (Maybe thousands) are being posted daily on Hive Blog. But the number of contents that follow the rules of SEO is less than 1%. You can quickly tell that by seeing an article if you know basic SEO.

I am not asking you to learn SEO or spend a lot of time on SEO. Just know some essential tips and tricks so that you can make your post SEO optimized while writing. Now the question is, why will you bother to make your post SEO optimized?

The answer is simple, which I already told in the first paragraph.

  • You can get visitors to your article from a Google search. I mean, you can attract people to your content or website.
  • You can help the site Hive Blog to become more popular.
  • It will help you to earn money by affiliate marketing from your website.
  • It will help you to earn money from ad networks like Google Adsense.

Well, it won't take more than 10 minutes of your time to make your article SEO optimized. I wrote a lot of SEO-related articles for Hive. Hive blog is getting enough attention nowadays. Hive's PA (Page Authority) and DA (Domain Authority) is now 44, which is quite good.

And honestly, I am considering Hive Blog as my playground. I implement a lot of techniques in my article; I test various things. If my article ranks in the search engine, I implement my methods to my own website.

Who can post here?

There are no strict rules here. Anyone can post in the Hive SEO community.

It's not mandatory that you have to be an SEO expert to write here. Or it doesn't matter your post is Hive-related or not. You can post anything here as long as it is related to SEO, search engine, Google, post format, backlinks, keywords, internal links, tags, SEO for images, etc.

You can write off-topic post also as long as it's SEO-optimized.

Again, feel free to write anything here, as long as it is related to Search Engine Optimization.

Like other communities, we won't allow any plagiarized content or images in our community. You'll be downvoted if you do.

Special thanks to @acidyo for encouraging me and giving me the idea to create this innovative community.

I want to make this community viral. We want to make a big community; we want lots of subscribers who will be responsible for The Hive Blog's ultimate growth.

So subscribe! Write! And embrace the power of SEO!

I have a bot running for SEO . It's very simple but I think it's effective.

Omg! This is just great! Though there are some thing that you may change. Here < h1 > is the title tag. You can use h1 header in the paragraph. But usually, I like to use just 1 h1 heading which is the title of my blog post or article.

But this is amazing! Can I contact you on discord?

Yeah sure. Sorry for the delay in responding.

AMR#2274 is my discord id.

Sweet bot! well done :)

Is there anything you don't have running mate lol!!

It's been long overdue to have this kind of community. I mean SEO is always something in mind when I post but can't help throw it out of the window once I am in the process of writing stuff. I got the basics down but implementing links, keywords and etc, some stuff dampens creativity by trading it for positioning on valuable terms.

I probably did something right on other blog on the previous blockchain as its getting better rankings than my hive counterpart. As a former SEO writer than rusted through the years, I hope to gain some insights from this community. Good luck!

It's great to have someone in the community who have enormous SEO knowledge. I would love to see some contents from you which will make our community more rich and productive.
Thanks for joining. Good to have you onboard.

Very nice ! I would love to see a weekly guide on one aspect of seo posted to the community

Weekly guide is a good idea. Thanks for your support.

Nice 👍 We are seeing some organic growth from search engines as well. Our team spent a lot of time optimizing website and making sure we are well suited for Google's algorithms. Interesting to read more about tips/guides/optimization from this community.

I must say you have a fantastic team for optimizing the site. Because I see the site is growing fast. Domain Authority moved to 33, and the site's age isn't even a year! Actually, this should be the main target of a website, gaining organic visitors.

I hope more people will join here who would love to share their SEO tips, methods, and enthusiasm. Thanks a lot for your support.

Thank you for effort to bring more awareness to HIVE

It's nothing compared to your work and dedication to the chain. Truly Inspired!

Yeah much needed! Im trying to "recruit" all my friends to Hive!

Nice can't wait to follow and see some extra steps I can take to get better SEO.

On MOST my grow or garden post I tired to add links both hive and outside the eco system.

The hardest one I have is keyword. As it is a journal I find getting different keys words is hard.

Believe me, It won't take more than 10 minutes to implement some basic SEO in your article if you have some fundamental SEO knowledge. Spending 10 minutes in SEO can give you a chance to rank your content on the first page of the search engine. I would love to see some SEO-optimized content from you.

For keywords, this content can give you some idea - How to Do Keyword Research for SEO

Great to have you in the community.

I have one question. Let's say you have a product that has two versions of it. Each version has a website of its own. There exist links between the sites. Is this detrimental to the total visibility of the entire product in Google searches?

 3 years ago (edited)

If I have two versions of the same product, I will first keep them on the same website. Because I believe your niche is the same for both versions.
Though it's not going to affect the search result if the products are different. Actually, it depends on a lot of aspects.

But if you upload the same product (same photo, same description) on separate websites, Google may count the second one as plagiarized content. It's hard to come to a conclusion from the info you provided. Let us know more about the product and website. There are a lot of SEO experts in the chain who may give a better explanation.

Thank you. I think that clarifies the issue to an extent it needs to.

Looking forward to learn about SEO, Joined the community 😍😍

me to :D

I was checking with blocktrades other day about the Google Analytics on Hive.blog, though SEO is really good topic to start with but if we have some data which we can analyze then it would be good I think

Good point! It's not possible to check another website's data on Google Analytics if you are not the owner. I use similar web and Semrush for analyzing the data of my competitors' website. We can use these types of tools to analyze Hive Blog's data.

Looking forward to seeing a post on this topic from you in our community.

Ahh, I would love anything that gets Hive posts on the top of Google results!

I'm curious if having hive.blog and peakd.com and leofinance.io and all the rest is detrimental to us showing up on searches? I've heard that this decreases the PageRank of each of the articles, but I don't know enough about SEO to be sure.

Thanks for the great endeavor!

 3 years ago (edited)

Yes, you can post the same thing on different websites. It depends actually what you want. If you're going to drive traffic to your main website, then definitely yes, you can. But first, post it on your main website.
Like if you want to rank Leofinance, post it on Leofinance at first. And then post it on Hive blog and make sure you add a canonical tag that tells Google which content is the original content.

So the point is, focus on one website. Google isn't likely going to rank the same content from 2 different websites. It's going to pick the original one.

Thanks, makes sense. This is a big problem for us on the Hive blockchain, right? Because people post on peakd and hive.blog and leofinance.io diminishes the rank of all of them.

Interesting about the canonical tag, do you know if these platforms do this? Do you think it's something that would be useful to pursue?

I'm ready!!! I'm already registered in the SEO community, I hope to learn a lot and keep receiving good information from you, thank you very much @pitboy

Welcome to the community! Looking forward to seeing your content in our community.

Congratulations on the new community. I have one question here:
How does the fact that different interfaces - Hive.blog, Ecency, and Peakd (as there are several, but these are the most popular) show the same post from the Hive blockchain affect SEO? Does Google usually rank the same content worse?

 3 years ago (edited)

You can post the same thing on different websites.

It's not going to give any benefit to other websites where you posted after the original one.

Technically the second website isn't going to get a penalty, duplicate content can still sometimes impact search engine rankings.

OK, I know what you mean, but I think you don't understand what I ask. I can post in LeoFinance (for example). But, the same post is also (no need to post again) viewed on peakD, Hive.blog, Ecency, etc..
I came here via ecency feed https://ecency.com/hive-120136/@pitboy/introducing-brand-new-community-hive-seo.

Well, I got it now. Honestly, it's hard to explain because my post will be posted on other Dapps (like peakD, Hive blog, Ecency, etc.) at the same time. And I never experienced anything like this in the digital marketing world. Because everyone just posts on their blog/website at first, then on the other blog.

My explanation -

The search engine looks for duplicate content and usually takes the first one (where you posted first) to rank and completely ignores other sites. Sometimes Google picks the site with the best ranking; it's rare, though.

And Google is not going to penalize other websites for duplicate contents unless it's copyrighted. It won't affect the SEO of other websites - they won't just get any organic traffic from the search engine for that content.

Here's is an example for you. This is the same content that you'll find on Ecency and other Dapps as well. But it ranked Hive Blog on Google (4th number at this moment) with the keyword "earn cryptocurrency by writing." It didn't rank Ecency or other Dapps as I focused on rank the Hive Blog with this keyword.

But it won't affect Ecency or other Dapps. They won't just get any traffic from search engines. That's it!

I hope I've answered your question. I believe there are some SEO experts in the chain, who can explain better. Thanks a lot. :)

Thank you for your answer. Yes, that's what I was wondering too, I didn't go into it looking at the same posts on the rankings but apparently, it's not a problem. It's interesting though, it occurs in systems where websites pull content from the same database. In our case, the Hive blockchain database.

In our digital world world, SEO is important, HIVE or otherwise. Sure it's easy to google some SEO stuff but it's different from having a dedicated community with experts who have subject knowledge on it and being able to interact with them directly. I thought to myself "Ah, do I need SEO in my life?" and I realised that even if I don't know it, the answer is probably yes! Happy to join the community and see what it brings!

Thanks a lot for joining. I hope we will be able to create an enriched community that will help the Hive blog to shine in the world of Search Engines.

Welcome mate. Looking forward to getting some posts from you in the community. :)

Very interesting the topic of SEO the truth as I'm new to this of the blockchains did not know much about this topic, but I am willing to 100% to learn. Thanks for wanting to impart more knowledge to the platform and the users that make it up, thus integrating improvements to it. Greetings from Venezuela!

This is very exciting and a chance for people to learn something! Looking forward to reading some expert tips and articles and increasing my knowledge base.
BEst wishes and have a great weekend :-)

YES! I fully support this initiative!

As a content marketer, I've talked more than a couple times about the importance of SEO. The VERY best way in my opinion to grow the audience and userbase of our platform is through organic searches for the topics people are writing about. If HIVE starts ranking on the first page, people will start noticing us.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this community!
