Hello, friends especially foodies!

Last Thursday and also on thursday two weeks ago, my team and i, at work, we went to a famous duck restaurant. That two sequence week i tried different kind of duck dish, and i would like to share the experience here with you all...

The restaurant where we went, was located next to the gas station in Raya Tomang street.

The restaurant was quite large and it also had quite large parking lots.

When we arrived there it was around lunch time, many customers there (luckily we still got the lot to park the car), you could see that they had large dining area.

Here was their dining area. You could see that it was large with natural decor, exposed bricks and had wooden furnish.

It was their outdoor dining area. I thought this was also a smoking area.

And also they had the indoor dining area. Where we came in to have dinner.

It had the same theme with the outdoor dining area, still with the exposed bricks. And it also had wooden furnish.

From the customers there you could see that it was popular... and also it was getting more and more crowded when we were there. Wow, for two sequence thursday, i couldn't feel any significant number of the customers they had.

There they had a wall with their pictures of their branches, also another green plant of wall. On the two weeks, we sat at the same table (what a coincidence!).

The menu that this restaurant had...

There their manual menu

And the same look if you want to order it before you come there, they would give you pdf downloadable menu.

As you could see, they sold many kind of duck dishes there. You could see they had crispy fried duck, cheap duck, fried duck, green chilli duck, rica duck, roasted duck, yound duck, peking duck, cetar duck, no skin duck, and duck satay. For some duck dishes, there were several packages. They also had few kind of chicken dishes there too but the speciality there was duck. They also had some veggie menu like sour veggie soup, lodeh, sang buaya, and stirred mushroom. They also had beverages like thai iced tea, lemon ice tea, pure pressed orange, selasih cucumber iced, young coconut iced, orange iced, dawet cendol iced, orange coconut iced, ginger wedang, black coffee, capuccinno, soursop juice and other juices and some other beverages.

The situation when we had lunch, some of us had it with muluk style, eating with hand no cutlery needed... but some we used the cutlery as usually.

Now here you could see what i had on both Thursdays...

First i had the fried young duck package. It included white rice, fried half of the young duck, dried peanut salted fish, papaya leaves stirred water spinach, and black color chilli paste. There we also ordered fried tempeh and fried tofu. For the drink, i only had no sugar tea.

Here when i had it

The fried young duck had crispy texture for the skin, it had soft meat with savory flavour. To bring the spicy flavour i had it with two kind of chilli paste that they had, the black one was unique cause it had special spices, while the red orange one had super spicy flavour. I also had the dried peanut and salted fish which had medium savory flavour. The young spinach stirred with papaya leaves had light savory flavour. Fried tempeh and tofu had savory flavour. Their tofu was special it was so smooth but a bit crispy outside.

While for the second time we got there, here what i had..

These were brown rice, roasted half young duck, sour veggie soup, young coconut ice.
The duck had soft texture with sweet savory flavour. I had it with spicy red chilli paste and also sweet soy sauce. For the sour veggie soup, it had some ingredients like melinjo leaves, corn, melinjo, longbean and peanut. This time i chose a fresh iced young coconut with a bit sugar which was fresh and sweet. Perfect!

Now let me battle between two kind of these duck dishes...

If the fried duck had crispy texture, the roasted duck had a bit wet texture, no wonder usually they also roasted it with sweet soy sauce. And for the flavour, while the fried duck had savory flavour, the roasted duck had sweet and a bit savory flavour. I thought i would like a sweet savory flavour. But for the skin, duck skin was the best, when it is fried, because you could get better even with fat fried skin... while for the roasted ones, some had too thick fat skin that i didn't dare to have.

But all would be depend on your choice, what will you choose?

And for the price, for the fried duck, like you could see in the menu, they had the same price of 33,700 IDR or just around 2.27 USD.

And as for your information, to eat there, for 10 persons you paid around 615,500 IDR or around 41.6 USD so to eat there you would need 4.16 USD for a person.
