Yummy & Healthy "Lauki Kofta Curry Recipe" : Bottle Gourd Kofta Curry

Today I'm going to share with you Healthy, delicious and tasty food recipe, “Bottle gourd Kofta Curry”, I helped a lot while preparation of this kofta curry. Please go through this post and see all cooking 19 images and hope you all will like it.

KOFTA PREPARATION ITEMS

  • 1 Lauki mid size (Bottle gourd) , It's peeled and grated
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds(Optional)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Mustard Oil , for cooking

KOFTA CURRY PREPARATION ITEMS

  • 9-10 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1 Onion
  • 2-3 Bay leaf (tej patta)
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin (Jeera) Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • Few Coriander (Dhania) Leaves, chopped
  • Salt as per taste
  • Mustard Oil , for cooking

Note: - As per taste curd or tomato can be use/increase , some person likes curd on it, they can pour curd while frying masala.

Koftas Preparation

Step 1

Take large mixing bowl and add the grated Bottle Gourd, Gram flour(besan), turmeric, red chilli powder, carom seeds, can add garlic paste little bit and salt as per taste.
Mix well to form a normal dough/batter and add more Gram flour (besan) if required.

Step 2

Heat Mustard oil in a pan and by hand pour mid-size of the batter in oil. Fry and flip kofta in between on low heat till the kofta turn brown as shown in image.

Drain it on to a paper towel for excess oil and keep aside.

Kofta Gravy/Curry Preparation

Step 1

  • Grind onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and chile together in grinder to make paste.
  • In bowl take all powder of Turmeric/ Coriander/ Red Chilli/ Cumin/ Garam
    masala and pour small amount of water and make paste.

Step 2

Heat the oil in Pan over medium heat. Fry bay leaves and Add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and wait till the cumin seeds crackle.

Step 3

Now add the all masala powder paste in pan and let it cook for 2-3 minute more.

Step 4

Now add paste of onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and chile in it and fry for 2-4 minute more.

Step 5
Add salt as per taste and 5-6 cup of water on it and keep 4-5 min on mid flame.

when its boiled, drop kofta in it as shown in pic. Now it will take 5-10 min more to cooked well. finally, garnish finely chopped coriander

Now it's ready to serve.

My wife and I often cook our own curry. Usually with chicken or plain vegetable curry, but our recipe is not that sophisticated as yours :D
