"Shrimp Mayonnaise Yogurt"

Shrimp is one of my favorite kinds of seafood. I imagined that there are many seafood stores in Nova Scotia, Canada before I moved because the fish industry is big. However, we don't have seafood markets like in Asia. Most seafood is frozen at the supermarket. I was disappointed about this. There is delicious fresh salmon though. If you want to eat fresh fish, you better fish by yourself here. Fishing is a very popular hobby here.

Anyway, my husband bought nice frozen shrimp the other day. I decided to make shrimp yogurt mayo. It was delicious! I ate it with Japchae, rice, Namul, and asparagus.

I used Japanese starch flour from Hokkaido, Japan, and my favorite yogurt.

  1. Firstly, put starch flour into a bag with shrimp for a while.
  2. After that cook with olive oil and garlic in a pan.
  3. Cook them until the surface gets slightly browned.
  4. After cooking the shrimp, pour sauce (ketchup, mayonnaise, yogurt, sugar, and lemon juice) into the pan and mix them. It is very quick and easy.

That's too bad, but I can understand. Actually when I first moved to Japan I was very surprised by all the fresh fish at the markets. Happily surprised. But my hometown is Indiana (near Chicago), which is far from any ocean, so fresh fish there is quite rare.

Anyway, that looks really good!

Lucky you! Yeah, I was expected there to be many fish markets here but not. Salmon, lobster, and haddock fish are very popular and delicious though. I miss the Japanese small fish stores! I love their styles.
