Quick Breakfast Idea - Cheese Triangles

in Foodies Bee Hive3 years ago

Good morning hungry people of Hive, how are you?

I was feeling inspired (by hunger) to make this quick and healthy version of a recipe I had for a long time. In the last grocery shopping we bought these thin crust that is used to make pie in my country. I know how to make it from scratch, but I didn't have the time for it.

It's fast and super yummy breakfast or dinner, takes about 20 minutes in total to make and I baked it in the oven, in stead of frying it in a pan to reduce the oil content.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 250g white cheese
  • 1/2 of cup of oil
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • salt
  • sesame seed (optional)
  • 1 pack of thin crust

Preparation:

Before starting the preparation I turned the oven to 180c to preheat so it would be faster, I also lined the baking tray with parchment paper to avoid the triangles sticking to the tray.

Preparation is extremely easy, just mix all the ingredients together, so eggs, cheese, yogurt, salt, oil until you get a pretty runny mixture. It will look a bit watery, but it only makes our pastry softer and more delicious.

Have a pack of thin crusts ready to go, take a few shots so it looks even more beautiful and begin filling the crust and making triangles.

You can actually make this recipe in any shape that you like, rolls for example look and taste just as good. I like triangle shape simply because that is the way my mother makes them, and it's always amazing. Not that it has to do anything with the shape, but I'm not willing to risk it, considering I'm not a great cook!

After forming the triangles in any way possible, let your imagination do the work for you, lay them on the baking tray and sprinkle sesame seed if you like it. I used to have mild allergic reaction to sesame when I was a teenager, but that allergy disappeared on it's own.

Place in the preheated oven for about 15 or 20 minutes, or until it's golden brown and looking ready to be devoured. It doesn't take to much time to bake and it should be nice and moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. You can, as I said fry them in oil, but I liked it more this way.

Leave it rest for a few minutes before serving and have an amazing fast meal. My kid also loved it, but this kid will eat anything salty to be honest, so it's not a good comparison. I can honestly say it was delicious considering I made it! :)
