Hello friends! Today I want to participate in the @CineTv contest where we have to talk about the film or films that made an impact on us visually, so after thinking about it for a few moments the only film that came to my mind was Midori, the Girl of the Camellias, a very visually stunning film, not that I liked it exactly, but I decided to watch it out of curiosity after it was recommended to me and the truth is that I was very, very shocked. Without further ado, let's start with the post.

El día de hoy quiero participar en el concurso de @CineTv dónde tenemos que hablar de la o las películas que nos impactaron visualmente, así que después de pensarlo por unos momentos el único film que me llegó a la mente fue Midori, la Niña de las Camelias, una película bastante impactante visualmente, no es que me haya gustado precisamente, sino que decidí verla por curiosidad después de que me la recomendaron y la verdad es que quedé muy pero muy impactada. Sin más preámbulo, comencemos con el post.

Midori, the Girl of Camellias is a Japanese anime film from Hiroshi Harada, released in 1992, and tells the story of a girl who lives alone with her mother, who is ill, so she goes out to the street to sell camellias to survive, on one occasion, a strange man approaches her and buys all the camellias to help her financially and also tells her that if she needs more help she can go and look for him, then he offers her his card. Midori returns to the house and realises that her mother is dead, and it's here that we have the first shocking image of the film, as the corpse is being eaten by mice.
Midori, la Niña de las Camelias es una película japonesa ánime de Hiroshi Harada, estrenada en 1992, y nos cuenta la historia de una niña que vive sola con su madre, la cuál está enferma, entonces ella sale a la calle a vender Camelias para poder sobrevivir, en una ocasión, un hombre extraño se acerca a ella y compra todas las camelias para ayudarla económicamente y además le dice que si necesita más ayuda puede ir a buscarlo, entonces le ofrece su tarjeta. Midori regresa a la casa y se da cuenta de que su madre está muerta, y es aquí donde tenemos la primera imagen impactante de la película, pues el cadáver está siendo devorado por ratones.
Seeing that she is alone, Midori decides to look for the address written on the card and then arrives at a freak circus where she is sexually abused by the freaks.
Al ver que está sola, Midori decide buscar la dirección escrita en la tarjeta y entonces llega a un circo de fenómenos donde abusada sexualmente por ellos.
Shortly afterwards she gets a group of puppies with whom she feels a great connection and protective instinct, but an evil girl decides to get rid of them in the worst way, she crushes and beats them in a brutal way and let me tell you that the scenes of that moment are highly repulsive and therefore I will not leave any explicit pictures about it.
Poco tiempo después ella consigue a un grupo de perritos con los cuales siente una gran conexión e instinto protector, pero una chica malvada decide deshacerse de ellos de la peor manera, los aplasta y golpea de forma brutal y déjenme decirle que las escenas de ese momento son altamente repulsivas y por lo tanto no pienso dejar ninguna foto explícita al respecto.
Eventually, after much abuse and injustice in that horrendous place, Midori falls in love with a dwarf who arrives at the freak circus and who is so talented that he makes the place grow financially. He takes care of her and protects her, but he is excessively possessive, so much so that when Midori is hired to make a film and it seems that his time to shine has come, he tears up the card of the artist's manager.
Con el tiempo, luego de muchos abusos e injusticias vividos en ese horrendo lugar, Midori se enamora de un enano que llega al circo de fenómenos y que es tan talentoso que hace que el lugar crezca económicamente. Él se hace cargo de ella y la protege, pero es excesivamente posesivo, tanto que cuando Midori es contratada para hacer una película y parece que su momento de brillar ha llegado, él rompe la tarjeta del representante artístico.
This man then begins to show his true, very violent personality and Midori returns to his cycle of mistreatment and injustice, but the climax and I think one of the most gore and disgusting moments of the film, is when the dwarf rages on stage and murders the whole audience by blowing them up (literally).
Este hombre comienza a mostrar entonces su verdadera personalidad, muy violenta y Midori vuelve a su ciclo de maltratos e injusticias, pero el momento álgido y creo que uno de los más gore y desagradables de la película, es cuando el enano se enfurece en el escenario y asesina a todo el público haciéndolos estallar (literalmente)
The owner of the Freaky Show runs away for fear that the police will charge him for what happened during the show, and leaves all the freaks stranded. Midori and the dwarf reconcile and leave the circus, but he ends up being killed in a robbery and at that moment she realises that everything, absolutely EVERYTHING that happened in the film is a figment of her imagination..... what a bizarre imagination this girl has Wow!
El dueño del Freaky Show huye por temor a que la policía lo acuse por lo que sucedió durante el espectáculo, y deja a todos los fenómenos abandonados. Midori y el enano se reconcilian y se van del circo, pero él termina siendo asesinado en un robo y en ese momento ella se da cuenta de que todo, absolutamente TODO lo que ocurrió en la película es producto de su imaginación..... que imaginación más extraña tiene esta chica ¡Wow!
It took Hiroshi Harada 5 years to finish the frames of the film as, for obvious reasons, no one wanted to be involved in such a film. It was released on 2 May 1992 under the title "Chika Gento Gekiga: Shojo Tsubaki" and was the only time it was broadcast in its entirety, as it then went through 26 edits required by the authorities. Wow! I don't even want to imagine what this film would be like without those edits.
A Hiroshi Harada le llevó 5 años terminar los fotogramas de la película ya que, por razones obvias, nadie quiso involucrarse en semejante film. Se estrenó el 2 de mayo de 1992 con el título "Chika Gento Gekiga: Shojo Tsubaki" y fue la única ocasión en que se transmitió completa, ya que luego pasó por 26 ediciones exigidas por las autoridades. Wow! no quiero ni imaginar como sería esta película sin esas ediciones.
To be completely honest, I didn't like the film at all, and you may wonder why I saw it, right? Well, I did so in order to form my own criteria, you can't criticise a film without having seen it and being able to develop your point of view. The thing is that although the film is obviously full of despair on purpose, as a way of showing the perversions of which the human being is capable, it's (in my opinion) absolutely linear, it doesn't take the viewer anywhere, the characters don't evolve as they are constantly involved in the same cycle of violence and injustice, Unlike "Grave of the Fireflies" which is very raw and shows us almost uncensored the horrors of war, but at least it leaves a message and evolution as Seita (the main character of that film) goes from being a rich and carefree child, to a responsible and hardworking young man who does the impossible to keep his little sister alive in the midst of the excesses of war.
Para ser completamente honesta la película no me gustó para nada, y ustedes se preguntarán por qué la vi, ¿cierto? pues lo hice para poder formarme mi propio criterio, no puedes criticar una película sin haberla visto y poder desarrollar tu punto de vista. El caso es que si bien obviamente el film está lleno de desesperanza a propósito, como una forma de mostrar las perversiones de las que el ser humano es capaz, es (en mi opinión) absolutamente lineal, no lleva al espectador a ningún lado, los personajes no evolucionan pues constantemente se ven envueltos en el mismo ciclo de violencia e injusticia, a diferencia de "La Tumba de las Luciérnagas" que es muy crudo y nos muestra casi sin censura los horrores de la guerra, pero al menos deja un mensaje y evolución pues Seita (el personaje principal de esa película) pasa de ser un niño rico y despreocupado, a un joven responsable y trabajador que hace hasta lo imposible por mantener viva a su hermanita en medio de los desmanes de la guerra.
Midori, the Girl of the Camellias seems more like a set of gore scenes without any sense other than to arouse the morbid curiosity of people, a flat story with no nuances, sorry if there are any fans of this film here! And well, if I have to mention a scene that shocked me more than others, wow! it would be difficult to choose, I think it would be the puppies' murder, which I'll leave below for the curious ones haha, but if you are sensitive people like me, I recommend you not to watch it.
Midori, la niña de las Camelias parece más bien un conjunto de escenas gore sin ningún sentido más que el de despertar el morbo o la curiosidad de las personas, una historia plana y sin matices. ¡Lo siento si hay aquí algún fan de este film! Y pues, si tengo que mencionar alguna escena que me haya impactado más que otras ¡Wow! sería difícil escoger, creo que sería la del asesinato de los cachorros, la cuál voy a dejar a continuación para los curiosos jaja, pero si son personas sensibles como yo, les recomiendo que no la vean.
Well, friends, that's all I have to say about this film, I really don't recommend it at all and I only brought it to this contest because it contains many scenes that are visually stunning, in fact the whole film is full of such scenes. Thank you very much for your attention.
