Working from home is not always the best option....or is it?

I have been working for a private online school for the last eight years. It has been a very up and down experience. Even though I work as an independent contractor, and I work from home, lately it has become somewhat of an unpleasant experience.

There are lots of advantages like working in your pajamas and working whenever you want, resting whenever you want, and then also not to dress up daily and driving to work. These days that is a total plus-point because of the diesel and petrol prices.

Don't get me wrong. I love teaching and the interaction I have with the kids. Teaching is not the issue here as that is my main goal and my passion. I have always wanted to be a teacher and I followed in my father's footsteps, just like my son is now doing with me. Teaching is in our blood and it is comes very natural to us.

The problem is the extra work that our boss gives us. He lives in his own little world, and it seems as if he has so many ideas and he wants to snap his fingers and it should be done. It constantly feels as if we are in a race towards something but there is no endpoint.

I am currently busy with his latest bright idea and I am working day and night to complete this enormous task in the given time. Creating a new curriculum and books for six different grades with seven new subjects that HE decided on. That means a total of forty two books with 181 lessons in each book, and guess what! I have until September to complete this!

I teach for six hours straight without any breaks, sitting down all the time, and then I start with these extra activities. (At least it keeps my brain busy and it keeps me out of trouble. I mean, who has a life these days anyways?)

I have never been scared of work, I love working and cannot see myself sitting at home being a housewife, but I sometimes wish that he would just think a little bit and realize that we are not machines and we also need to have some free time.

On the other hand, there will be many people killing to have this job. In the end I might be more fortunate than others because of the enormous amount of jobless people in this country of ours.

Perhaps I just needed to vent a little to make myself see the bigger picture here. I am doing it for the children after all, and it will be quite exciting teaching a curriculum where you actually learn something useful and not all the crap the government forces into children's minds.

Well wish me luck, because I have a lot of work to do and if you want, check out our school.

I am working at home, full-time, since 5 years, since I am a crypto professional with some years of experience. At the beginning the hardest part was managing my time across the multiple distraction I could find at home and no control from a potential boss.

Later on I started appreciating it, and I keep myself active with sport and outside activities to be sure keep me fit and in touch with people

Oooops. Teaching 6 hours straight and then working on extra projects the deadline of which is very near. It is too much of the work. And I am sure there would be home chores as well. No matter how much we love working, our body needs some rest, doesn't it?

It is a problem with the countries where there is low employment. The employer takes the benefit and over burden his employees.

I wish you very good luck for your work and health

Great post! Yes, I agree with you that working from home is wonderful and fantastic, especially during these harsh times we're all going through (as you pointed out yourself very wisely, who has a life these days anyway?). I am sorry that you are going through so much needless pressure from your boss but this situation is only temporary and, as you mentioned, you should be grateful for the fact that you have this job. Sometimes we are going through some really rough times even in our dream jobs, but we shouldn't be upset or ungrateful to the universe for giving them to us in the first place and having them on constant day-to-day basis, especially if it is such a noble cause as it is in your case, namely working with and for children. It is beautiful above all and it should be like that in the future as well! Best of luck with all of your educational projects, much health, take care, stay safe, have a wonderful day and week, and keep up the good work! Namaste, many blessings, great prosperity, and great peace your way! 😊🙏✌️☮️

La experiencias y la forma como organizamos el tiempo, es la mejor herramienta para comenzar a establecer conductas que nos llevan a tener el control de nuestro entorno

Creating a working environment at home makes working-from-home more pleasant.

To many people they view working from home as incompetent which is not true. I always prefer working from home much more than even in the office.
