To say the past couple of months have been busy for me (both offline and on) would be a wicked understatement. So busy in fact, that the last time I posted here was for the official results of the June 2022 Power Up Day - and on my WordPress blog, it hasn't been since mid May. But the one thing that always returns my focus to the blockchain is Hive Power Up Day!
So to get to it - while technically in my little corner of the world there's still just under 2 hours left of June (I'm posting this a bit after 10:00pm EST), #HivePUD for July 1st 2022 has already arrived in other parts of the world. If you want a super cool way to check if it's officially in your area according to UTC time (which is how the Hive Buzz badges are determined), be sure to check out the Countdown Timer on the hivebuzz.me site (under the green "Power Up" tab), courtesy of the awesomesauce team at @hivebuzz!
Oh, and speaking of the ever awesome Hive Buzz team - as I mentioned last month if you enjoy all the cool things they do to make our blockchain home extra fun, please consider checking out their Hive Gamification Proposal for 2022, which recently dropped below the new base return proposal, so it's no longer being funded. HivePUD TL;DR
- If you want to qualify for the AMAZING Hive Power Up Day badge(s), your power up must happen during the 24 hours of July 1st 2022 according to UTC time.
and/or
- If you want to qualify for the #HivePUD prize pool, your power up and post must happen (according to criteria listed below) during the hours of July 1st 2022, your local time.

I did some tweaking of the 4 traditional HivePUD posts a year ago this month, and back in April 2022 I decided to tweak a bit more by combining the usual first two posts (Announcement & Welcome to HivePUD) into this one that I publish around the first few hours of the start of the first each month. In addition, I'll do some extra signal boosting of the "HivePUD is coming" posts done by others instead, as it seems like it will be the best way to spread the word. 😊And this month, I've decided to tweak the rules a bit, for the first time in forever - be sure to check them out.
Now, for the basic Power Up Day details...
What is HivePUD?
Hive Power Up Day happens on the first of every month. Those who are able to, take this time to power up some Hive, and/or cancel their power downs and pause trading/selling for the 24 hour span of the day.

What are the rules to win prizes for HivePUD?
UPDATED
The requirements are:
- Your reputation must be above 39 and below 70 and your account must be in good standing with the community.
- Your total Hive Power (before the 1st) must be more than 100 and less than 8000.
- You must power up at least 10 Hive on July 1st (and must NOT be powering down).
- You must write a post about your power up on July 1st with the tag #HivePUD (International) or #HPUD (Hispanic) as one of your first 5 tags (tagging only in the body of the post doesn't count).
To be included in the winners list, you must meet all four requirements above. The order of the list (first place, second place, and so on) will be determined by the biggest PERCENTAGE of Hive powered up, not necessarily the most Hive powered up.
And to make it clear what's changed about the rules, I've bolded the two bits in rules #1 and #3. I think it's pretty self-explanatory why I've added those in, but please feel free to shout out if you any questions about it.
How to get HiveBuzz badges
For details, check their post Hive Power Up Day - July 1st 2022 as well as their Power Up Day Helper Badge post but essentially -
- Power up a minimum of 10 HIVE during the UTC time for the first of the month. Convert your local time to UTC or check the countdown timer on the Hive Buzz site (under the "Challenges" tab) to confirm it's during the first UTC time before you power up.
They've also turned the occasional #HPUM (Hive Power Up Month) into a monthly event all year long! To read more about it, check out their post from the beginning of the year, PUD - PUH - PUM - It's all about to Power Up!

Well I’m reviving the @crossculture discord so it only makes sense that I power up the account :-)
My old account fell out of orca status, I am sad about that, but things are a little tight right now. hopefully I will be able to do a massive power up by the end of the year and get back there. I'll make sure to do it on the first of the month.
