As the days goes by and the month for a raining season almost at the door though some have entered already, its quite more important to know about our wellbeing in terms of good drainage systems on our homes,towns and cities.

What is good drainage system
A good drainage system is one having a well refined,constructed water channels through which water flows to its banks at ease without causing over flooding or contributing to a blockage of road due to its unkept effect. The main purpose of a good drainage system is to remove the water from the roads and its surrounding.
In cases where there are blockage to the channels,a well fashioned channel is to be constructed to have a better route to its flow as it contributes to a daily better living.

Division of a good drainage system
A good drainage system is divided into the following;
. Surface drainage system
A surface drainage system is one in which the water channels are exposed peripherally but well framed channels for a good water outflow.
. Subsurface drainage system
A sub surface drainage system is one having its water channels under a surface well framed for an outflow of water.
. Crossed drainage system
A crossed drainage system is one having its water channels crossed so as to reduce its flow water intensity though well framed. Its importance is that it prevents drain water from mixing with canal water.

The major prerequisite for a good water drainage system include; A road side chains, catch water drains, cross drainage works, measures for increasing slope stability.
The main essence for these is that water is intercepted and diverted to natural streams thereby proving a good road network free of water flooding.
Disadvantages of bad drainage system
.Loss of lives and properties
.Forceful evacuation of people in that area
.Erosion and many more reasons

That’s interesting. It’s, obviously, essential to have a good drainage system in place around residential and business areas in an urban situation. There’d be less calamitous flooding if more people paid attention to their drainage needs. Thank you for posting in the Eco-Train.
