Welcome to this final question for Season 9 based on the theme of Spirituality. It has been an incredible season with so much engagement and so many amazing posts! For this final question we have an intriguing question. Do we need a Guru or spiritual teacher in order to grow spiritually? This is a very important topic because these days we are surrounded by all kinds of Gurus and teachers who claim they hold the secrets and knowledge and are able to help you to become more spiritual and perhaps even enlightened! in some countries such as India this is commonplace and widely accepted that a spiritual person would have a guru so teach and inspire them. There is much esoteric knowledge held by many of these Gurus, and without them one could ask how it would be possible for someone to gain this wisdom?

Perhaps you have grown Spiritually without a teacher or Guru, discovering through many different people, or even through nature and all of her creation! If so we would love to hear from you. Perhaps also you have indeed had a Guru or teacher that has given you many gifts and taken you further down the spiritual path than you could go alone. That guru could be someone who is alive and you have met personally, or it could be someone who has long since passed but their knowledge and teachings live on and have touched your life. Whatever your story or opinions we would love to hear from you! If you have never had a Guru or teacher but you have your own opinion or ideas please do also share them with us.

Please feel free to expand on the question or focus on any part of it. You could share what you think a guru really means, or is.. perhaps you have had one! Priests can be examples or teachers or Gurus, and if you have a priest that you have been inspired by you can certainly share with us about that, and indeed if you think you would be where you are today spiritually without them.

As always in the ecoTrain community we truly welcome all opinions and ideas whatever they are. We are not here to judge, but only to share and witness each others. I am very happy to say that on this very last question we have had such a beautiful and open group of people from all walks of life and so many religions too! Despite what you may see on TV, we are able to live in harmony with each other whatever our personal faiths may be.. They do not have to cause conflict, when our hearts are open everything is fine!

    We do not need a guru or spiritual teacher to grow Spiritually, when we become born again we automatically receive the Holy Spirit, and since the Bible is there to enlighten us on the ways and precepts of God. All we need to do is to study the Bible, meditate on it daily and ask that the Holy Spirit anoint the eyes of our understanding for better comprehension. Because the Bible made us understand, who can know a man better than His own Spirit.

    It's different for different people but what I feel is spirituality lies within us but a Guru only provides it a direction. Great question as always. I will post my views. Thank you!

    Certainly, I agree with the phrase "when the student is ready, the teacher appears", not necessarily a guru, but the spiritual guide.
