Are you Making "Good Time" in your Life?

in ecoTrain4 years ago

One of the many things I learned from my grandmother was the concept of making "Good Time." She always impressed upon me the importance of never wasting valuable moments that could be put to productive use and also the value of having moments where you do nothing at all. This allowed for time to reflect and reset yourself, in order to come back recharged and better than ever.

Due to the current crisis, I've had more downtime that I can remember in my life. It's given me an opportunity to reconsider some of the relationships that may need to be changed as well as mending some fences. There have been those that are always about themselves and their inner darkness glows like an eerie blacklight in these trying times when we should all be helping each other.

I just read a post which took me back to when I traveled overseas. There were always so many "events" scheduled, as if each and every minute of the day had to be accounted for. At some point, I decided to stop and just take time to smell the roses without needing to do something, know what I mean? My last month in Germany was the happiest without the crush of a busy schedule and the ability to just live in the moment.

Relax

So if this pandemic has done anything, it's given me the space to "clean house" of the people and situations that were weighing me down. I've also cleared a backlog of those things that we all plan to do but somehow never got around to. So yes, it's been a productive time and while I may not be on the shore, in my mind I'm lounging on a beautiful sandy beach feeling the Sun's warmth and making "Good Time."

Thank you so much!
