My experience on insecurity (Unemployment and lack of education as a factor triggering Insecurity)

Hello Hivers,

Today, I will be writing on the major causes of insecurity in my country and my experience. Before I start, the following are the reasons for the insecurities in my nation.

UNEMPLOYMENT

In my country, the rate of employment is getting high and it is leading to insecurity in so many ways. In some states you can’t even walk in the streets with your phone or walk with money in your bag. You have to sleep with one eyes close and the other opened because you are trying to be security conscious.

The worst of all is Kidnapping. This has been occurring for decade where innocent citizens who are trying to earn a living are kidnapped and and being asked to pay millions of Naira before they are released. And if they are not able to pay up, they get killed. Traveling is not safe, staying at home is not safe, going to work so you can earn a living is not safe too.

Personally, I believe the number one cause of insecurity is unemployment and the government has refused to look into it.

Another issue that caused insecurity is unemployment. This started a long time ago but the government never saw it as a problem which made them not to look into the situation and it’s worst than you could imagine.

The state securities who are paid to secure the life of citizens don’t do what they are paid to do. All they do is to stop innocent people searching their phones. I know this because they have stopped me twice and they searched my phone but found nothing.

I experienced a robbery which happened 2014 whereby the robbers broke down our door and entered into our house to rob us. Immediately they left, we called the police but it took them hours to get to my house.
The issue is, the state has its budget where they include all the security pay, but they tend to embezzle the money for their own interest and they don’t employ enough securities .
The current government didn’t doing its best to protecting the life’s of the citizens.

If the youths or educated citizens were employed, the rate of insecurities would have reduced drastically. These thieves don’t have any job to put food on their table.

Three weeks ago, my mum called me that they just stole her phone on her way to church. Three days later, the boy who stole her phone called my elder brother to send him money, that he will return the phone if he did. My elder brother initiated the transfer but we didn’t get the phone.

Just this afternoon while I was sleeping, I got a call from a strange number, which I picked and next thing I heard was my mothers voice saying that my younger brother’s number which I call to communicate with her has been stolen as well.

This has kept me wondering what this country is turning into. Is it that the government is not hearing about all the insecurities in the country or is it that they hear and see but are just too greedy to do something about it?

It is the rate of unemployment that has made the youths who are graduates to go into fraud. Its makes most youths thinks school is a scam or it is waste of energy because after going to school they don’t get jobs.

Even the entrepreneurship programs they create saying it’s to helps the unemployed aren’t what they say it is. Most of the people that is it supposed to help don’t get the program. The entrepreneurship program ends up been exploited by the privileged, whereby information get to the few due to nepotism and ethnic politics.

LACK OF EDUCATION

When there are no educational system for the citizens of a country or state, they grow up being illiterate. But it’s good for one to have a good education while growing up because it helps mold you into the person you will be in future.

If the government are not too greedy and they have been taking care of the citizens by giving free education to the rural areas and even to the urban areas, it will help those who can’t afford to take their children to school. Because they won’t have to pay any school fees. With this there will be less illiterates.

Most schools opened by government Are funded poorly and when there is no funding the teachers will start asking the children to tell their parents to bring certain amount of money and when they don’t have it, their children stops going to school.

Once a child is not shaped at a young age, he grows up to be a thug, which includes him stealing phones, raping girls, stealing money, kidnapping and any little thing he can do to make money.

I wish unemployment and lack of education can stop, my country will be a better place.

The central of all these dwells more on sentiments and Godfatherism. Depending on the govt for job security and core neccesities would be an error. One need to stand his grounds and wake up to the realities on ground. While we make ourself accountable for our survival, let pray and hope for a better Nigeria and Administration someday.
