Kala Chana Masala (Black Chickpeas dry curry)

Chana (Chickpeas) Masala needs no introduction, it is popular vegan and gluten-free Indian dish.
This dish can pairs well with rice or naan, it can have as healthy breakfast.

It’s very Easy and simple to make Chana Masala using raw chickpeas and raw chickpeas will soaked overnight, then cooked with onion, tomatoes and spices.

My mom made this Chana Masala every week with poori or paratha. Now sharing this recipe with your all to have healthy food at home without more hassle.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Onion mid-size chopped
  • 2 Tomato mid-size chopped
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger peeled chopped
  • 8-10 cloves garlic or more to taste
  • 4 green chile
  • 3 tablespoons oil (As per need)
  • 2 bay leaves, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water as needed
  • 2 Cup chickpeas

Grind onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and chile together in grinder to make paste.

Heat the oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat. Fry bay leaves and Add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and wait till the cumin seeds crackle

Mix paste of onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and chile

Add the coriander/garam masala/cumin/turmeric powder and let it cook for 1 minute more.

Add the socked soft 2 cup chickpeas also add salt as per taste and fry it 5-7 minute

Add 2-3 cup of water on it and cook kala chana on a medium flame for eight to ten whistles till the kala chana cooked well.

Now chana masala is ready to have with all ingredient, as like add over it and have a delicious dish with or without any supportive.
