It's Lunar New Year - Seollal (we call it in Korea) As we welcome the new year according to the lunar calendar, it somehow feels like starting 2024 all over again. I went to my in-laws' house nearby to have New Year’s greetings, and there's already a pack of people gathered. my children seemed to have enjoyed meeting her cousins. It was time for her to draw on a tablet together and have time in the playground even though it was cold.
설날입니다! 음력으로 새해를 맞이하니 왠지 2024년을 다시 한번 시작하는 기분이 듭니다. 가까이 있는 처갓집에 세배를 드리러 갔는데 우리 어린이는 사촌언니&오빠를 만나서 즐거웠 나봅니다. 같이 그림도 그리고 춥지만 놀이터에서 뛰어놀기도 했던 시간이었습니다.
This is how I celebrate my daughter’s 5th Lunar New Year.
귀여운 어린이. 이렇게 딸아이의 5번째 설날은 맞이합니다.
Today, she also had her younger & pretty cousin, wearing hanbok, and getting ready to bow. In the meantime, the children were busy playing with colored paper. She folded, cut, and taped these pieces of paper to create things that were in her imagination.
오늘은 이쁜 사촌 동생도 와서 같이 한복도 입고 세배를 드릴 준비를 하고 있습니다. 이 와중에도 색종이를 접느라 정신이 없는 어린이들입니다. 요즘은 동그란 모양의 색종이들이 나오더군요. 이런 종이들을 접고, 오리고 테이프로 이어붙이기도 해서 머리속에 있는 것들을 만들어 보는 어린이 입니다.

Wow! What a beautiful celebration of Seollal! It looks like your daughter was really having a wonderful time with her cousins. The photos was very adorable, and it's so heartwarming to see the kids are having fun together😊.
