Getting back in shape ….. fuck thats breach in my routine

Ok this is me, at the end of this day!

This is a blog with pictures from the late afternoon back to the time after the eyes were closed for a little snuggle with Joey.
After practising some attempts to get back to where I was.

This weekend I decided to take up the training to get in shape up again. A bit late as the summer alsready started but as they say, better late than never. So this Monday morning I started to do the workout again. For those of you that think I always work out, well I used to. Now I can say covid was the reason, or due to covid I am always at home, but thats only partially. I was not allowed to work out in the office and the hockey season was not
played full due to covid or not played at all.

The fact that I accumulated much training gear and clothes by the way, was great when the sport centers all still were closed due to the rules in the Netherlands. Online fun shopping with a cause so to say. So in a corner of the bedroom my new setup is now realised. I have to say that I like it very much. But still had to go in to a strategy that worked. Well i can tell you I started , fell back, started again, tried some new things, and than the covid went away and well I geared up to play on the fields again. That is all on a summer break now and i have to go back to that sweet set up i made before.

The thing thats is new is this app. The 7 minute app I use, the boys have a holiday now and they love to be active aswell. So we do this together and than I do some things alone, dont wanna be distracted or laughed at. I have to loose some weight and make sure I get my endurance back and in shape.

I plan to go out and skate again with the dogs, now i only do the app and the cycling with Joey and Charlie. We dutchies cycle as much as we can. Its a lifestyle. So this compliments the good intentions to the healthy and sporty life again with some adjustments.
I know I have to do this but myself and just do it, like the shirt from Nike says that I wear while walking upstairs.

My set up consists of many things, but the bike, the weights and the balance ball is the most important, well important the things I started to used again now. I will add more when I have gained some shape back. That is the plan, but as you can see in the picture its exhausting !

I have another thing, called sugar. I am soooo addicted that i have to take charge there aswell. The fact we only have one body and I am responsible is a fact. So let’s go and take charge.
I know I won’t like it starting out but when I am done I will feel ok.

Wow Britt good to know you used to work out.
The set up looks cool. I hope you soon lose extra weight and get back to your shape once again.

Well the age is letting me keep some extra weight and what use to be quite easy to get rid of now takes more effort hahahah I am getting old. I have to do more and I need to do it but hate it because doing nothing and just chill on the couch is so much nicer. But I am getting there

You have a lot of implements! ... how great, exercise and get in shape, now is the time. Skating with your pets is great for both you and them. And by the way the first photo, where you are with your pet is adorable.

take it slowly Britt. Be kind. Things take time. Post covid, I understand its hard to get back into shape- you'd feel easily tire up, things are just a bit harder- and that's normal and ok.

So true ! Hi dear how are you. Still so busy taking care of others, we love you for that! And yes post covid doesn’t help and also age it used to be easier to just get some weight of and do it but I am set to try and I will. And I will keep you posted

I hear ya, @brittandjosie! With all the hiking I do, you would think it would help, but the fact of the matter is, it just helps my legs mostly. I really need some variety - the kind like you're gearing up to do, but haven't found the motivation nor the time to get it done. I wish you the best and will keep watch for your progress reports. You do have a lot of gear, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? I also have some gear, but not that much. I want to build something in my garden before the Fall so I can expand my cross-fit routine. There are some things I can't do indoors.

I wish you much success with your fitness goals - and don't go too close to that sugar!

Field hockey, mid-for player. The gear is also accumulated when the two oldest couldn’t go to the gym when we were in lockdown so we put all together and the garden is to small so the attic is multi functional now. I hate it but I need to get going.

Well, I'm not that hardcore. Just enough to stay somewhat tone and fit. I tore my ACL (left knee) years ago, now I have to be a bit more careful.

Succes met de training. Ik word eind van het jaar 60 maar veel fietsen en werk op een land houdt me fit. Mager was ik altijd al.

If only I could break my unhealthy routine and hit the gym,,, I'd be the healthiest a healthy boy. My hypertension remains, doctor suggests exercise multiple times yet I choose to ignore it due to laziness plus the feeling that I'm wasting my time on something unproductive.

I guess I really need to go out there and get in shape.
