Good evening Hivers. It's been three days? Yes. Three days. I haven't been around here for really serious reasons. Those who know me, know how much I've grown attatched to Hive and how much I can't bear to be away.
Fact, I have been away because of this grueling exam. Well, not so much if you're prepared for it. Still, it's hard to juggle so much especially for an only child.
The title of my post is thanks to a friend here on Hive. He called me an all or nothing gal. While I couldn't decipher what he meant then, I did during my MIA period.
The days have passed and faded gracefully in the background. Yet, I'm reminded daily of who I want to be and what it'll take. The term All or Nothing refers to picking a side and not staying neutral. You either get it done excellently or don't even try at all.
Sunday began early for me and I got home by 5pm. I couldn't even think. Before that, I'd noticed that my work on Hive was becoming rushed where I wouldn't engage the way I love to because I have to maximize my time and get other things done e.g revision of books.
That is one thing I couldn't stomach. When I got home Sunday, I had the thought of just making a post and resting so I don't let the day go by without accomplishing anything. Yet, I remembered the weekend post I made and how haphazard it was. So, I decided against it.
When I start something, I like to get it done and not just get it done, I like to get it done excellently. This is a trait I'd just discovered about myself, thanks to this friend who made the comment.
Fatigue and procrastination can kill a good work. Which is why, I didn't bother doing anything these three days because I'll feel worse should I read my works days later only to find that they are rushed, unplanned and half-cooked.
This, however, led to the opening remark. Yes. My notifications piled up so much and I had to take my time today with them.
That's not all. I've been building myself to be better and I'm not going to hide it. @tengolotodo told me once to let my confidence seep into my words. I have no idea what that means but I'm on my way to finding out.
Using some of my savings, I'd gotten my laptop repaired because, I decided to not just set goals and plan towards them, I also decided to act.
One step leads to another and another and another, till an individual finds himself/herself engaged in the race of life, forging ahead with determination and a character that's unbendable.
Yes, this upgrades gave me problems and I found myself asking why I even invested in them, yet, today, my efforts were rewarded.
I also got rewarded in health. I slept for a complete twelve hours from monday night. I woke up on Tuesday morning (or afternoon) feeling so refreshed. I'd spent the day building my innerman through meditation and self development.
I'd picked up on my workout routine and reviewed my goals. I caught up on a lot of unsettled work and lessened my burdens in the real world.
My neighbors have been commenting since yesterday how youthful I look all of a sudden. Perhaps, a few days off was a good thing.
Not just that, I spent quality time with my little boy, Sean. He'd said something that melted my heart. He commented how he'd missed the times we'd spent together and how much my work has taken me from him. I felt... It's...an awful feeling.
These three days opened my eyes to a lot of things I've been missing. My next paper will be on Thursday. I have seven more papers to sit and one of them is Law. I'm dreading it!
Anyway, I was able to catch up on my notifications, Dreemport but not Engagement. That will be taken care of as I plan to meet my daily quota. The clock hasn't stricken twelve yet, so I won't quit.

Hi, I saw that you had not posted. I think it is very good what you did, we have to self-regulate, rest to regain those forces. And rest also goes with doing the things we like and want to do and we don't do them. A hug and we will keep reading.

Every so often ones batteries get run down, and we need to whip the charger out, plug ourselves in and do sfa and recuperate then come back bouncing fresh like you did!

aw, you are a blessing you know that? you are such an inspiration dear Deraaa. And is that your little boy. What a sweetheart? How old is he? Spending time with our kids is so precious and something that can easily fall by the wayside in the admin of life....because we are with them...but not with them... I feel exactly the same as you... do it properly or not at all... so I tend not to write every day myself. I just can't sustain quality posting and curating and live my off-chain life well too if I try to post every day...I mean I write a lot of the days but its always building on a post hehe.

I have been seriously resting this week. I talked to Khaleesii on discord and she made me realize we will be pursuing this money and perfection and forget to live.
So, this week, I rest like never before. And I ate anything that comes to my mind as long as it was healthy. I didn't hesitate anymore.
Just today, my head said, "shea you are eating and dipping hands into that money, it will soon shock you" 😂😂
I'll figure it out. That's what I kept telling her. Resting does help, but, it never mean we should quit.
