Finally I can share with you PART 3 from 11, our adventure to our new home and country.
These 11 parts will be about our move “driving” ourselves to a new COUNTRY 😊 some parts will include some subtle hints, via text or photo 😅😉 so pay attention and see if you can guess where we are heading for!
In my #streetart post from last night I wrote already about this… I had no mobile reception or internet the last 2 days during my travels. So I could not update you sooner. I will explain why in the coming posts and all will be clear what happened in part 5.
Luckily I reached this accommodation today and can write some posts as the Wi-Fi is strong enough to upload photos. In the morning we will travel further 🚗🚗🚗 again though 😊

The Photographs in this post are all taken with my iPhone by me 📱🤓 and a few by hubby… when I was driving 🚗 we do share each journey/ part, as the trip is toooo long for just one person to drive 😁

As I did in the last 2 parts to know how many kilometres we will drive in total. I take again a photo from the dashboard and will do so every part of the journey.
We start today at : 127.160 km
Our journey start today in PIERREMONT FRANCE 🇫🇷 and we will drive further along our route.
😇 I MUST SAY HERE… I HAVE DIVERTED OFF THE ROUTE QUITE A BIT, TO VISIT FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR 2 DAYS.
So keep that in mind if you want to guess where I am heading… I could go the opposite direction again next 😎

After we put our suitcases 🧳 in the car, I capture one more time some birds eating the seeds next to the door of this cute French accommodation 🇳🇱
I jump behind the steering wheel again and hubby will take the first photos along the road until we switch again half way 😁
We are in the countryside, so I am driving my favourite roads again 🥰
Passing by some cute small villages.
He tried to capture some chickens in this field next to us… the focus is sadly a bit off… but still a cool capture 🚗🚗😎
Suddenly we see some pyramid like structures popping up at the horizon. Wow, that’s interesting 🤔
We see 2 pyramids clearly now… maybe we will come closer 😃
Crossing bridges and following road signs 🪧 😎
There they are again… 🤔
Not sure what they are but they look definitely man made structures… 🌄
The roads are starting to get busier now as we come closer to some bigggg cities 🏙️

We are about to cross another country border 🌍
There in the distance is the border 🚧
On the right on this parking 🅿️ we see the sign.
We entered #BELGIUM 🇧🇪
So so far we crossed, IRELAND 🇮🇪, part of FRANCE 🇫🇷 and we are now heading into BELGIUM😃
Just driving 🚗🚗🚗 along and following road signs 🪧
The funniest thing we saw a few times in France but almost all the villages in BELGIUM 🇧🇪
THE ENTRY SIGNS TO VILLAGES ARE UPSIDE DOWN 🙃
Anybody knows why?
We think it could be related to the farmers protests…but not sure 🤔
We stopped in a village to eat some sandwiches, where we switched drivers after a little rest 🚗🚗😊 so now I am taking photos again 😎
I see this cool statue on this roundabout, a bird of prey 🦅 very cool!

… but suddenly we can’t follow Bruxelles anymore ???
The entire road is closed and all cars are forced to go off at the next exit.
So we divert our route a bit 🤓
We decide to follow Charleroi for a little bit 🙂
We pass by some cute city scapes 🏙️
Even a plane will land close by at the airport that is not far from here ✈️✈️✈️✈️
I capture a few more shots.
We go off route a bit more now…
As we are driving for a longggg time now and we decide to go into a village for a cup of coffee / some tea ☕️

Back roads connecting villages with each other…
Beautiful Belgium 🇧🇪 country side.
A place that looks busier and maybe we find something that is open… to stop at.

Around more roundabouts with some industrial artefacts, from times long gone 🤓
A forest… where are the coffee shops?

Even a gorilla 🦍 will come by on our road trip 😎🤣😂

As we continue to drive further and further… we go further on the map 🗺️
We reach Vlaams - Brabant
I see something very interesting on this roundabout.

We are driving past the Hoegaarden factory in Hoegaarden 🍻🍻🍺🍺🍻🍻🍺🍺
Another angle of this factory.
I found a bar that was open. We parked our car and walked a bit around to stretch our legs for a little while. It’s 15:30h already and we started driving at 11:00h
After a well needed drink ☕️☕️ a coffee and a tea ☕️ we hit the road again to drive further 🚗🚗🚗 as we have not reached our destination for today yet.
Out of the same town again, past some interesting architecture. We are still in Belgium here.

I did see in the corner of my eye a mural popping up 😊 I have to capture it… bit by bit…
We see it is a bit faded
But still pretty cool 😎

Yes we are still driving this day at 16:50h 😳 our days are longggg…
… and guess what, as it wasn’t long enough… we ended up in a long traffic jam hahaha 🤣
Ah well… we just continue… 😃
We reach this roundabout with a fighter jet on it.
We think we have seen so many different things today… we will remember it for a while 😌

I can tell you, we still haven’t reach our accommodation from today and we keep driving until it gets dark 🚗🚗🚗 what wasn’t that long anymore.
Finally we reach our destination after we had dinner in a town on route at 21:30h 🥱😴 it was a very longggg day.
We are staying at friends for a few days now. Where we will visit my family too 🥰 if you know what country I am from (not the one I was born in)… you know where we ended up in 😁😇
After we reach the destination, before we switch off the car… I capture the km’s again.
So let’s look at how far we have driven in this part.
The meter says : 127.500 km
Means we have driven 340 km along the road🚗…
Adding the first total we get : 1,741 km in 4 days 😉
Our route (ish) we took.
I will make soon a complete overview of all the routes together on one map 🗺️ we drove so far.

Belgium looks beautiful, and it looks like their road are fairly wide for roadside parking.
It also seems like they have more traffic circle.

It is an interesting place. Some villages have space for parking. Some don’t. It just depends.

Heading for Holland? Awesome! I can't wait for the photos. The inversion of the city signs is puzzling... maybe it's related to the farmers' protest. I love the fact that you still managed to take photos of the dragonfly graffiti!
Yep… for part of our journey to visit friends and family. It was a detour. But worth it 😎
I try to visit my mom as often as I can. She is next month 90.
It must be related to the farmers protests. I saw it is spreading to more countries now. Even Spain.
Sometimes it works out capturing something in a driving car.

Well at least the Gorilla wasn't looking for a lift, ha ha. I've been following some of the Protest in Europe, have you seen any of that chaos or is it just in the big cities like Paris or Brussels so far?

Yes, I saw some things too. Tractors 🚜 on the main roads blocking all. As far as I know it was mainly the big cities.
Besides not being able to go towards Brussels it didn’t affect us at all.

Yep, Germany is next on our route 😉 but is it the end destination?

We didn’t have any beer s we still had to drive a lot that day.
