Been a bit stationary recently. Dont like it. Took a coastal walk today when we still had daylight.

I just went out to take some pictures and almost froze my fingers off. A lot of wind! But that makes for nice pictures, with the snow being blown around.

Almost froze my fingers off to take some #winter #photos today... Strong winds, so I tried to get the snow mist. Worked more or less, I'll see if I can enhance that somehow. @daveks, maybe you have an idea to make it more visible? Higher contrast? #photography
try pushing the effects/dehaze slider in lightroom(mobile) to minus 🤓
Okay, so I guess you recommend lightroom as an app to work on pictures? I don't have dehaze in the regular windows. There's the possibility to "Sharpen", though, but it didn't work too well. This is as best as I got it for now:

Yeah, the fumbling was why I didn't even look for a pair. I personally don't have any since we don't need them in Ecuador, but for this visit, they'd come in handy. Literally.

I didn't either. But this was plain amazing. I'm so glad that we came here in winter, because it was a spectacular one. Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but in the 20 winters that I remember spending here, only one was close to this.

Welp, I'm done with peakD.. I cant be arsed with dealing with this bug that prevents my account from posting replies.
I've reported it but as of yet they cant reproduce it so I'm just gonna have to use somewhere else.
The best part of using Hive is that there are lots of alternatives. and you can always come back to PeakD with your account fully active.
how did this happen? I'm curious!
I don't know really, It's just my when I use peakD with keychain on firefox, if I have two accounts added my first account can't reply because of a weird error the other can and most recently even with only one account added to peakD via keychain the error came up anyway. so there some weird thing going on with peakD, keychain and firefox or something.
If I clear all site data and relog in it's fine for a while. I 've tried disabling all sorts to see if something was bricking it but nothing makes any difference.
To rule out it being peakd, try using HiveAuth. You can login on your computer, using your phone to approve the transactions. if this works, the issue is not peakd, but a buggerino in keychain.
I've actually already ruled out it being peakD specifically at least I used peaklock and it worked fine didn't seem to get the same error. only ever happens when using keychain.
You can also login through chrome. There are many ways to navigate on Hive.
I specifically use firefox to get away from chrome based browsers as I have nothing but issues with them.

That's one crazy landscape. I read it formed 35 million years ago because of volcanic activity from the Cascade range.
If I remember right from my visit there 10 some years ago it was also once a very tropical environment.
This is the kind of stuff that blows my mind. It's almost like I can't quite believe it, but the science facts are there.
Beautiful. I saw something similar in Israel once. Layers of sediment in the most wonderful colors, like a rainbow.
It is pretty amazing. I think China has something similar also.

I haven't found a good way to put thoughts into words. In short, I'm even more disgusted with Republicans celebrating war and police brutality than I was with Democrats demanding COVID lockdowns and penalties for noncompliance.
Wars shouldn't be celebrated because they destroy lives, homes, and the future of many.
All those troubles can be settled amicably if only people can sit down reason and think somethings through.

Reminiscing - decades ago, when I worked at Canadian Pacific Railway as a Railcar-Mechanic, a group of us built a demolition derby car. Dont remember the date, but here is a before and after shot. The car painted like a CPR engine.
you probably won't recognise me - I am in the last row second from the left next to the guy in the red t-shirt. I was a young, clean-shaven and clean-cut young guy back then! I was 'in charge' of the painting!

I returned to my home country Austria, living in Vienna, since 2011. I had retired from the CPR in 2006 already. Now I am active in the art scene, which actually I had always been, but now more so in the EU and internationally.
