RE: Who Do You Think You Are?

That's all very true on the theoretical level. On the practical lovely unfortunately, it's not even close. The superficial diversity has a huge effect, to both directions. DEI on one side, racism and such on the other, leading to a huge loss of potential. Taking away many resources. It's a good addition to one if your other posts. What if we weren't so focused on superficial diversity, and would use both the potential as well as the resources towards something that creates real value to humankind?

Ridiculous polarization, without looking at the practical needs and application.

The amount of lost potential is staggering across every resource we have at our disposal.

Ridiculous polarization, without looking at the practical needs and application.

Do you think it actually is like that? Or is that what we perceive, because it's the polarization that makes the headline? I was thinking about that dichotomy while walking around today, and in my personal experience, most people I know don't care about the superficial diversity, but are indeed focused on the actual value provided by a person in a certain situation.

Now, of course, that, too, can be inherently biased. But I lead me to think that maybe the focus on both extremes in the discourse about it is blown out of proportion.
