RE: Access Denied

This is just like those Teams messages in the workplace where someone wants something from you and says "Hi", without "Hi, I've been told you can do this, can you do this, or point me in the direction of how it can get done?"

Super frustrating when people don't get to the point, or they think small talk will make you more likely to do something. Never the case, especially with me. Get to the point, save your time, and save my time.

Like those charity collectors who try to reel you in with (for me at least) - "hey bro, nice beard, wanna give some money to starving kids?"

I ... am not going to engage. If I was going to give, I would have done it already.

Sort:

Oh I HATE when they do that. I mean, great, you're greeting first, that's something. But just get on with it. Don't catch my attention and then don't follow up.

And you do have a nice beard.

He does have a nice beard. Some might even call it glorious.

Yes - exactly like those Teams messages, but at least in a company, there are somewhat relationships and expectations to help each other. But I hate the ones who only contact when they want something, and it is never anything good :D

I ... am not going to engage. If I was going to give, I would have done it already.

I hate being stopped like that. It is an attempt to guilt you into giving - I give already, thank you. There are many ways to give without doing it on the street with someone waving a can.

And at least in a company, you are normally getting paid to become increasingly infuriated at vague suggestions at tasks that should be added to your list, but are really someone else's job entirely.
