Ha! I don't think Hive owns the rally car, just a sponsor right? Though, I suspect that without the generous sponsorship, the car is going to struggle. Is it even competing, are there races, has it won anything? Is it in the RWC or is it in some little rally competition like they have in Finland?
Also, I thought this is obvious, but I like to make it clear that Blocktrades didn’t and doesn’t write value plan proposals GP does.
Yeah, I knew this. I don't know who approved the rally car in the first place, and why it got so much support. It is a silly way to get attention, since very few people watch rally!
Hive owns the rally car.
It was mentioned publicly multiple times
Does that mean I get to have a drive of it?
I'm an excellent driver.
You may have to stand in a line.
Oh and have to travel to Croatia. Should be easy for you.
Oh I would travel to Croatia anyway, it's a beautiful country, and the coast! Last time I was there, the roads were amazing, too. But that was around 25 years ago, everything was rebuild with re-construction money after the war in the 90s.
But racing down the coast on those roads in a Hive car? I'd be open for that. In Summer.
Show me the money.
His idea, not mine! Sounds like solid plan, though!
I like Croatia, but is it really worth advertising on a rally car there? Is there a really strong Croatian Hive community because of it at least?
Nop
So, question that I should actually know the answer to, but still can't wrap my head around it. When you say "Hive owns the rally car." - is Hive a company, of which we're shareholders? Or are we all a little bit of Hive? On what name would the car be registered?
LOL, it is a difficult question, and I don't know the details.
Hive is technically not a corporation. But when we do deals, or make physical purchases, I am sure someone signs. So there is something somewhere that is incorporated.
Also people often don't like if you ask these questions. I know I ask them and people don't like me. I don't want you to get there :)
You should be used to it by now :) SL had similar issues, and we are more transparent that our parent chain, so you know about SL foundation. Mattclarke signs for us in the physical world.
"Don't... ask... too... many... questions... especially... if.. they're... valid!!!1!!" Noted. Thanks for the, eeh, explanation attempt 😅 Honestly, I get that question a lot when I talk to people about Hive. From now on, I'll tell them it's like the Fight Club, but the other way around. You do talk about Hive, but you don't ask about it.
Yes.
The first rule of the fight club is "Do not talk about fight club"
The first rules of Hive is "Do not ask questions about Hive." The second rule is "DO NOT ask questions about Hive." The third rule is "But tell everyone about it! EVERYONE!"
Now you are getting it :)
Who approved the rally car?
Technically we all did :)
Well 110 voters who voted for the value plan proposal did.
Four votes typically puts it above the return proposal.
Value plan is a bit like one of those "prop" votes in the US, where you vote for one thing, but they jam 25 other things no one wants into it.
Yes, that is the big problem.
I have given my feedback to GP, Crimsonclad and Blocktrades. They all recognize the problem.
However, GP and Crim are not paid employees or contractors. It is hard for us to expect to have them write 10 proposals for 10 marketing initiatives. We know how that goes with Clay at Splinterlands and he is a paid employee.
I also requested numerous times to hire Crim as at least a contractor but I am told by multiple people including Crim that we don’t have the money for it.
We we are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
