We are in a spot of trouble over here as they have lifted our power cuts to level 6 now.
So we were shut off at 10am this morning, until 2.30pm this afternoon. Another shut off awaits at 8pm, a couple of minutes from now.
Such is life!

Maybe I will not get a reply to all of your messages now, as we have a scheduled power cut at 8pm.
It is always the if... that counts. If they do this, if they do that, if they think logically, if they didn't let all of the specialist tradesmen go, so if,if,if my friend.

I followed your advice and have gone into the mountains. At the moment I am in my sleeping bag in the van and hope I will not freeze during the night because a cold wind is blowing outside and there's even some snow. I am at 2,320 meters altitude on a parking lot at the "3 Zinnen" - "Tre Cime di Lavaredo". The weather was cold but nice today, but the cloudless sky was boring.
If the weather is nice tomorrow morning I will go on a hike around the 3 Zinnen - wishing you a great day tomorrow, my friend 🌞

Wow~! Both Marian and I was stunned by this photo. Yes, it must be cold, but the photo shows that there is also still a bit of heat around. I hope that you remembered to twitter the photo.
We will go off again at 10pm and everything seems to be falling apart over here. Our gate motor packed up and is now repaired and running again, but it is going to cost us a bomb.
The batteries need 12 hours to charge and the power cuts disturbs the charging time, so eventually the battery and the controls resign.
Talking about batteries, I lost one of my camera batteries yesterday and now they have no replacement stock.
I hope that the weather was nice and that you had a great hike 😊

It's just a smartphone image and apart from the mountains there's nothing interesting to see. I said in my other reply that I'll go there again when the alpine flowers are blooming because in the foreground they might add nicely to a photo.
I didn't post it on Twitter but I have posted another image from that evening just a few minutes ago.
The weather was even too nice because there were almost no clouds again, but it was very windy and cold. Until the tourists arrived it was a lovely and quiet hike, but then you could hear them all around and I was glad that I was back at the car after about 4 hours hiking around these peaks.
I hope that the costs for the repair will not be too high. Can't you just switch the charging off while the power cuts last, so that the power cuts don't mean any harm to the batteries and the controls?
And I hope that you'll find another spare camera battery - isn't there a (online) market for used things like Ebay or so?

We have right now been switched on again and I have to catch up on a mountain of work.
Talking about mountains, this photo of yours is supreme and I so wish that I was there with you.
Was it this one that you twittered? It sure is lovely.
Good of you to get away before the tourist rush, as noisy crowds are never a pleasant experience and I hope that the van is working out well for you, as 4 hours of hiking should make you a bit tired.
I can't even do one kilometer anymore, but the good news is that the medical has given the go ahead for the operation on my legs. So 2 stents will be placed in each leg.
Of course there will be a co-payment, but at least we don't have to pay the full cost.
The doctor will also also not put me under, as he will do it under a local anesthetic with will make the bottom half of my body lame. So I will be awake during the operation, which is great as it means that I can go home sooner. The only painful thing is that injection that they give in the lower spine.
No, I can't switch the charging off, as it will be of no use, the batteries need a minimum of 12 hours to complete a charge and if the period is switched off continuously, then the battery just packs its bag and it leaves to go to battery heaven 😉
No time yet to search for an online battery, but soon.

Thanks so much that you like the photos, my friend, because I have taken so many there but only a few were good or sharp. It was so windy up there that the camera wasn't sturdy enough on the tripod, but I am glad that a few have been good enough :)

Even if it's painful, when the result lets you walk again easier it's worth the pain.
In that case I hope that the power cuts don't do the same with the batteries and send them to battery heaven.
Being out without a spare battery has caused me some troubles in the past when I thought I don't need to take one with me and then had to return home without the photos I could have taken. So I do hope you'll get a new battery soon.
I'm home today, but mostly offline, and tomorrow I'll drive my daughter to Lower Austria and then I think I'll go on my next trip north or west ... or I don't know yet 😉
