Crochet 101: I wrote my first-ever crochet pattern!

Before my weeks-worth hiatus, I had been sharing with you my crochet pattern-testing experiences. Guess what? I recently just wrote my own pattern!!!

I was actually initially hesitant to push with it because the voices in my head kept on telling me that it would be another failure. Self-sabotage in its finest. Haha. Still, in the end, I decided to brush those unpleasant thoughts off, and just did it. There is nothing to lose here anyway.

So I continued on jotting down notes as I made progress with the design I had in mind. The process of designing and writing the pattern were both exciting and tiring. I sincerely enjoyed it, but I wasn't too fond of taking the photos. HAHAA It was all worth it in the end, though!

I named this, Matilda Co-Ord.

Aiming for comfort, Matilda was designed to be breathable and flowy. It is a perfect OOTD whether you are out in a hot day or just simply lounging at home. I used size 1 fingering fine cotton yarn, which made this set so soft! Aside from being comfy, another thing I love about Matilda are the pockets on the shorts! Yep! I made pockets for it because I love pockets on my dresses or bottoms. I mean, who doesn't? Haha

I am plannning on releasing this written pattern on July, since It'll be the 1st anniv of my crochet account! Hihi. But before that, I will have the pattern be tested first.

I am currently looking for crochet artists who are interested in testing Matilda Co-Ord written pattern, from chid size to adult 2XL. Hihi

If you are interested, you may fill out the application form which may be found here: mgothooked.carrd.co/. I will be choosing the testers maybe next week. Hihi

Here is a photo of Matilda, when worn:

Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happiness.

Congratulations on your first pattern! 🥳 The outfit looks amazingly cute and comfy!! 😍

This is such an accomplishment to be proud of and I am so glad you shared it right here in the community with us.

I would so love to test this pattern but with my schedule it would take me forever to get it finished and I know you probably want/need prompt results. Are you requesting the testing be done in a certain amount of time?

Awwww, thank you so so much!!! I appreciate the love you are showing towards this and your interest in testing!

Testers will be given 4 weeks to finish the project, starting from the day the pattern is sent. So the deadline will be around 1st or 2nd week of July :))

You’re welcome ;)

Thanks for the deadline info ~

Well done! !CTP !BBH

Thank you so much! 😀

Congratulations to this lovely pattern. I hope you will find a lot of volunteers for the testing and I love that you will offer your pattern in a wide size range, so that everybody can crochet it.

Thank you so so much! I really hope a lot will also love Matilda as much as I do. 💕

Very nice pattern. Considered setting up shop on Hivelist?

Hello! Thank you so much. :)) I am actly not familiar with Hivelist. 😅

it's a marketplace that's built on Hive that has you can list your products on and your customers can pay with crypto. They even have thier own fulfillment service and token @hivelist https://hivelist.io/

Ohhhh. Will check this out. Thank you so much!

you're most welcome😊

It seems unbelievable that this outfit was crocheted. the fabric was very thick. The final result was really beautiful, I love it and I congratulate you, you have wonderful hands.

I love almost all crafts and I have even crocheted. I managed to make a complete sweater on a long trip while we were going back and forth on the road, but nothing to do with this type of garment. The truth is that it was super beautiful, I congratulate you and thank you for sharing your work of art 😉 @herkeepsake
.

Awwww this is so sweet. Thank you!! I haven't tried crocheting a sweater, nor crochet while on the road. Waaaaa! That's something I would absolutely wanna try one day!

Really? but you have incredible talent. I think I would never be able to embark on a project like yours. Although it may not take you that long to finish it, but generally I start something that I can finish in a short time because otherwise I get desperate hahaha. I will be waiting for your next works. Have a nice day 🌺!!

Because this is such an awesome post, here is a BBH Tip for you. . Keep up the fantastic work

Thank youu!!

Awesome!! I am glad you went for it and didnt let your thoughts sabotage you, it came out super lovely!! I would definitely wear it:) and that you made pockets for the bottom is just another amazing detail, love it!! It is true that every time I make a bottom or dress and I do not add pockets because of laziness in the process I regret it after.. Unfortunately I rarely find the patience to crochet big things like that, otherwise I would love to try this one, but I am definitely looking forward to you next crochet pattern, keep it up!!:)

This is such a sweet comment! Thank you so much for recognizing my hard work. It does take patience and motivation to finish big projects! But if you'll find one that would interest you a lot, for sure, the process will be much better!

Thank you again!

You are very welcome!! I really enjoyed to read your post!:)

How beautiful it looks, I'm sure I would use it to relax inside my house. And my niece would love one just like it but to go for a walk. She loves those shorts.

Very nice! And it's more fun and rewarding to create your own.

Thank youuu. And I agree! It feels so good to be wearing something you made. Yesterday, I wore this outside and my workmates were appreciating it,which made me feel shy and nice at the same time. Such a confidence-booster!

Wow! I well deserved! My mom and I do crochet and ain't easy, beautiful, flawless work!

I've always loved crotchet wears. They're always comfy and simple to be worn out or even indoors. Your first pattern is so beautiful. It looks so good on whoever has it on. Great job.

Thank you so much! And i agree that handmade clothes gives us a different vibe when worn!

Writing patterns is way harder than doing the work, congrats! That’s a super cute set and I’d volunteer to try it but I crochet so rarely that I’ll just admire from afar :)

Thank you so much! It was indeed a challenge to write the pattern! But i hope i did it well enough 🙈

Congratulations 👏
This is really beautiful and looks comfy. Keep up the good works.....

Thank you so much!
