Today I want to share with you a concept art I made exactly one year ago, of a character I created. In fact I created him in 1997 when I was in seventh grade. Back then I used to create my own homemade comics in old notebooks, no ink or color, just a regular pencil and a ton of imagination. I really liked to do that but I pursued a career in engineering and pushed my artistic inclinations aside. The character's name is SX, a robot created to save mankind.
Hoy quiero compartir contigo un arte conceptual que hice hace exactamente un año, de un personaje que creé. De hecho lo creé en 1997 cuando estaba en séptimo grado. En aquellos tiempos solía crear mis propios cómics caseros en viejos cuadernos, sin tinta ni color, sólo un lápiz normal y una tonelada de imaginación. Me gustaba mucho hacerlo, pero seguí una carrera en ingeniería y dejé de lado mis inclinaciones artísticas. El personaje se llama SX, un robot creado para salvar a la humanidad.
I used the following materials and tools:
- Recycled paper
- Color pencil
- HP Photosmart C3180 Scanner
- Desktop PC
- Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Software
Los materiales y herramientas usados fueron los siguientes:
- Papel de reciclaje
- Lápiz de color
- Escáner HP Photosmart C3180
- PC de escritorio
- Software Adobe Photoshop CC 2019
First, I made the sketch by hand on a recycled paper sheet. I used a color pencil so that the scanner had no problem registering the image, which can happen if I use a graphite pencil.
Primero, realicé el boceto a mano en una hoja de papel de reciclaje. Usé un lápiz de color para que el escáner no tuviera problemas en registrar la imagen, cosa que puede suceder si uso un lápiz de grafito.
The next step was to scan the image and open it in the Photoshop design Software. I traced the outline of the drawing with the pencil tool on a new layer, the result is shown below.
El siguiente paso fue escanear la imagen y abrirla en el Software de diseño Photoshop. Tracé el contorno del dibujo con la herramienta lápiz en una capa nueva, el resultado se muestra a continuación.
Then I added color to the illustration.
Luego agregué color a la ilustración.
This is the result after adding some effects and shadows.
