🇪🇸 ~ ¡Hola a todxs! Feliz fin de semana; aprovechando las fotos que tome durante los últimos días de noviembre de 2021 mientras me preparaba para asistir a una convención, quiero compartir otra de las pelucas que estilicé ( ･ω･)ﾉ
Antes de comenzar, comento que Suigintou (水銀燈, su nombre significa “Lampara de Mercurio”) es uno de los primeros personajes que representé para competir en concursos de Cosplay, y me ha acompañado a 3 (exitosos) viajes.
🇺🇸 ~ Hello everyone! Happy weekend; taking advantage of the photos I took during the last days of November 2021 while preparing to attend a convention, I want to share another of the wigs that I styled ( ･ω･)ﾉ
Before I start, I comment that Suigintou (水銀燈, her name means "Mercury Lamp") is one of the first characters I represented to compete in Cosplay contests, and has accompanied me to 3 (successful) trips.

El personaje pertenece al manga de “Rozen Maiden” (obra de 8 tomos, creado por Peach-Pit, cuya publicación fue de 2003 a 2007, más una secuela de 2008 a 20013), aunque yo la conocí con la primera versión del anime de 2004...
... y caí perdidamente enamorada de todo sobre ella, su personalidad, su fuerza, y su bellísimo diseño monocromático ( ∩ˇωˇ∩) ♡
The character belongs to the "Rozen Maiden" manga (8-volume work, created by Peach-Pit, whose publication was from 2003 to 2007, plus a sequel from 2008 to 20013), although I met her with the first version of the 2004 anime...

La primera vez que fui Suigintou, escogí hacer una mezcla entre la versión del primer anime y la versión del manga: Preferí el color negro antes que el azul oscuro tornasolado, me gustaron más las rosas violeta antes que los pequeños lazos negros.
The first time I was Suigintou, I chose to make a mix between the first anime version and the manga version: I preferred the black color rather than the dark iridescent blue, I liked the violet rubbings rather than the little black bows.
✦ Before placing it on the polyurethane head and pinning it in place, I gave it the same treatment as my Arturia wig: A good bath with baby shampoo, and a second bath with fabric softener ✦
Mi Cosplay de Suiguintou a tenido varias pelucas diferentes, pero actualmente no tengo una de su tono especifico, así que improvisé con lo que tengo en mi stock.
Blanche de Pokémon Go, por eso es TAN LARGA, pero por razones de tiempo y disponibilidad la utilicé para otros proyectos, y se enredó al punto de hacer imposible restaurarla sin cortarla (ノ﹏ヽ)La peluca que aprecian en las fotos la pedí por internet con ayuda de @Vanuzza para mi cosplay de
Por eso lo primero que hice fue evaluar su condición, intentar una última vez desenredarla, y como no hubo éxito, corté la sección que era irrecuperable.

So the first thing I did was to assess its condition, try one last time to untangle it, and since there was no success, I cut off the section that was unrecoverable.

✅ Cuando la peluca estuvo totalmente seca, la fije a su base con alfileres grandes.
✅ Estilicé el fleco utilizando la imagen guía de la versión del manga.
✅ Separe con ayuda de las pinzas largas cada capa del fleco, desde el centro del cráneo de la peluca.
Let's get started!
✅ When the wig was totally dry, I attached it to its base with large pins.
✅ I styled the fringe using the guide image from the manga version.
✅ Separate with the help of long tweezers each layer of the fringe, from the center of the skull of the wig.
✅ A temperatura baja-media, aplique calor con la plancha para cabello en cada sección.
✅ Después repetí los pasos en los flecos laterales de la peluca.
✅ At low-medium temperature, apply heat with the hair straightener on each section.
✅ I then repeated the steps on the side bangs of the wig.
✅ Con ayuda de la tijera para cabello, le di un poco más de definición a las puntas del cabello.
✅ Cuando estuve satisfecha con el frente de la peluca, trabaje con paciencia la parte posterior (algo de tijera, y mucha plancha sección por sección).
✅ El resultado es una fibra manejable y que difícilmente se enredará.
✅ Finalmente hice una trenza en todas las partes largas para poder embalarla en su estuche y evitar se frise o despeine durante el viaje.
✅ With the help of the hair scissors, I gave a little more definition to the ends of the hair.
✅ When I was satisfied with the front of the wig, I patiently worked on the back (some scissoring, and a lot of ironing section by section).
✅ The result is a fiber that is manageable and unlikely to tangle.
✅ Finally I braided all the long parts so that I could pack it in its case and prevent it from frizzing or unraveling during the trip.
Sé que existen mejores técnicas para preparar o hacer mantenimiento a las pelucas de kanekalon, pero no quiero mostrar nada aquí que no haya comprobado que funciona con certeza 👀 🙌
Aunque si pudiera recomendar un tutorial para dar looks más realistas y menos artificial a las pelucas, recomendaría con los ojos cerrados a Tay HeavenGreen, una wig-maker maravillosa de México 🥰 💚
I know there are better techniques for prepping or maintaining kanekalon wigs, but I don't want to show anything here that I haven't proven to work for sure 👀 🙌
Although if I could recommend a tutorial to give **more realistic and less artificial looks to wigs, I would recommend with my eyes closed Tay HeavenGreen, a wonderful wig-maker from Mexico 🥰 💚

No tengo muchas fotos con este traje ese fin de semana, el tiempo paso muy rápido. PERO puedo asegurar que la peluca al final del día podía peinarse con los dedos fácilmente, y mantuvo el peinado sin problema mientras la utilicé 🏆 ✨
I don't have many photos with this outfit that weekend, time went by so fast. BUT I can assure you that the wig at the end of the day could finger comb easily, and it kept the hairstyle without a problem as long as I wore it 🏆 ✨
