Greetings to everyone in the Visual Shots community! Today I'm joining you to share a new series of photographs with you. This time, it's some street photography I took in Valencia, Venezuela. These are some images of the houses in that area and their details. These were taken at the edge of Colombia Street, going up toward Fernando Figueredo Avenue, as if heading toward the Valencia Zoo. It's a fairly quiet area, where the commerce and bustle of downtown Valencia end and the serenity of family homes begins. There's almost no such activity around here, so it's common to find residents on the streets (or sitting near their homes) going about their daily lives.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Visual Shots! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nueva serie de fotografías. En esta oportunidad se trata de algunas fotografías de calle que tomé en Valencia, Venezuela. Se trata de algunas imágenes de las casas de ese sector y detalles de las mismas. Estas fueron a la altura de la Calle Colombia, subiendo hacia la avenida Fernando Figueredo, cómo si fueran en dirección hacia el Zoológico de Valencia. Es un sector bastante tranquilo, dónde termina el comercio y el bullicio típico del centro de Valencia y comienza la serenidad de las residencias familiares. Por aquí casi no hay actividad de ese estilo, por lo que es común encontrar a sus habitantes en las calles (o sentados cerca de sus casas) en su rutina de vida regular.
I found it a little funny because there were a good number of representatives with their children walking down that street after school (it was rush hour), and they stared in surprise when I took the photographs of the houses. Of course, I think it's a normal reaction if you put yourself in their shoes; That a stranger comes to your neighborhood and takes pictures of the place. Although, well, that's part of the process of taking pictures: getting looks. Sometimes you feel like you're doing something really wrong (hahaha). The thing is, I've always thought the houses on this street are very pretty. In fact, I used to come here with my parents, and we'd discuss which one we liked the most and what we'd do to fix them up if they lived there. I also came across a house that still had its old mailbox. I think it's the first time I've seen that. In general, you get to take pictures as you walk and look around. Me hizo un poco de gracia porque había una buena cantidad de representantes con sus hijos bajando por esa calle luego de la escuela (era hora pico) y se quedaban viendo con extrañeza cuando yo tomaba las fotografías de las casas. Por supuesto, creo que es una reacción normal si uno se pone en el lugar de ellos; que un extraño llegue a tu barrio y tome fotografías del lugar. Aunque bueno, eso es parte del proceso de tomar fotografías: recibir miradas. A veces uno se siente cómo si estuviera haciendo algo realmente malo (jajaja). La cuestión es que, de esta calle siempre me han parecido muy bonitas sus casas. De hecho, venía con mis papás y comentábamos cual nos gustaba más y que arreglamos les haríamos de vivir en ellas. También di con una casa que conservaba el antiguo buzón. Creo que es la primera vez que veía eso. En general, uno consigue que fotografiar conforme se camina y se busca en el paso.
