Rare Dice Summoners

Dice Summoners Rock!

Azamare Dice was released on Wednesday, August 26th, 2020 at around 1 PM ET / 5 PM GMT. It's been five days. What an amazing last five days its been. I am a @splinterlands fan. I did a post earlier about why I bought all the dice cards. So now that I have it, I thought I should test them out. So I did for the last 4 days. I thought an impact of the review is best right now, as most people will likely buys the cards more selectively. So the views that will be expressed are my personal, and its incomplete. Because although I did 498 battles last season (compared to my 250 as an average), it is still not enough to test. I was not trying to rank, but just trying to test the new summoners in particular. I felt, the new summoners will be game changer and more appealing to the masses. I will post about the common, epic and legendary monsters of the Azamare Dice with a later post.

Nicknames

I have always given my favorite Pokemon nicknames. My regular battle Charizard was named Fly & Burn; but when I really feel like showing off, I get my Shiny Charizard out, who is nicknamed hell hound . Don't ask me why I named a Zard hell hound. Nicknames often have very little rhyme and reason. Its personal choice. Also you give nickname to someone you love.... I didn't go around and gave all my 1400 Pokemon nicknames! I only gave nicknames to a few that I love. So I love these Dice Summoners. I feel connected to them already. So here's my nicknames :)

Lorna Shine (The Ninja Babe) of Life Splinter

So the obvious first question, who's my favorite. It is hard to make up your mind in only 4 days, but so far I am leaning towards the Red Head Khymerian who carries a Hattori Hanzō sword that is bigger than her! My liking for her is magical, because I hated life splinter. I don't know why, but life splinter never appealed me. Their shield based melee battle is not my style. Even after CHANSEUS THE GREAT, I still couldn't warm up to the life splinter. It is still my weakest deck (I barely have any life monsters 4 weeks back). But in comes Lorna, and she changed everything for me! Its like love at first sight! That's all I am say. All the techniques, mechanics, and the details come later, but it was love a first sight!

Lorna is a 3 Mana summoner, with a simple ability that she give to every one on her team. Divine Shield. Enough said! With already a shield heavy splinter, you have Divide Shield for everyone! Means you essentially neutralize all hit for one round. Makes or breaks a game, eh? All that for 3 mana! Amazing!!!

A few battles with Lorna

I have 12 total battles with the Ninja Babe. 8 Wins - 4 Defeats. That 66% success rate. Not very you would say. But mind you, I am an average player, and also I was pushing to use the Dice Summoners; and I fought many battles where their use as not ideal. Dice summoners are niche, so if you randomly use it, you will loose.

Battle -1

So here's a battle. Armored up and Lost Legendaries. Fire, Life, Earth, Dragon splinters can be used. Here was my thought process when I saw it:

  1. Armored up with no water (one with the most Magic attackers), and mid-level mana, and with no death (lots of low mana magic attackers, and default loss of one melee attack); this could be ideal to test a life splinter battle

  2. My opponent could use Earth (I am likely covered there, mostly range attacks), or Fire (unlikely choice, but with no legendary I felt good), or Dragon (well, there won't be any Gold Dragon!); or Life (mirror match?, bring it on)

So as you can see, opponent chose life as well. However, I am as magic heavy as I can be. AND I have the universal Divine Shield! So the result is obvious!

Battle -2

Here is another one. This time Water and Death were both available. However, the opponent chose Earth. Which is a good test, especially with the Prince :)

Not a max team from my opponent, but still with Prince and with Cocatrice on Position 1, and me without a Magic attack (how many times I will make this mistake!!!) I think it would be fairly even.

Nah! It was not even :)

Battle -3

This is all but Death is active, and it is Super Sneak with Lost Legendaries. My opponent is Dalz, and I would chosen a Fire team here any other day. With the Monkey as a boost, Exploding Dwarf is incredibly fast and deadly. Cocatrice at the back is an ideal rear guard. Ooze makes my team slower too. From Dalz near MAX team, I see no flaw in his thinking!

So who will win? The moment I took the Cocatrice out, I thought I got it, because I didn't know how it got hit on the first attack!

Summary

Lorna, the Ninja Babe, is amazing! It can be used from Bronze all the way to Champion leagues. Its 3 mana will be a bonus, and in the beginning, mostly players will be unprepared to handle her. Go get her, folks! I am telling you, she is amazing!!

Sort:

Really cool, I think this Rotster Owster should be considered legendary because magic reflect for everyone is insanely strong.

That is comming up next! The Magic Dude is equally good.

I now have a database of nearly 200 real-life manual battles. That is content for a long time. I will share it all for everyone's benefit.

Cool, @azircon. I love analyzing battles and when I think I noticed something interesting or amazing in one of mine I also save the link to maybe use it in a future post about strategy. (All mine are also real-life manual battles). I will be keeping an eye on your publications.

Against water or magic attack death team; there is almost no contest when you use The Magic Dude :)

I have virtually no Life splinter cards, and no women is going to make me change my mind!

Hey! We can change that easily! Please check your card collection.

:) Thanks

I'm not sure when she will get a run out, but I will let you know when it happens!

You have an S. Assassin and an Armorsmith that you can easily level up. You also have a strong neutral deck. Imagine what your Max Goblin Mech can do with the Ninja lady ;)

The neutrals are great, I struggle without them.

Let me see what i can level up...

I think I miscalculated how lorna is used. Seeing you excited about this summoner I wanted to see some of the battles and now I have.

It felt like, to have a nicer time with lorna, I need to level up my deck.

She is the best in my opinion at the point. She changed my view of a whole splinter!

Lorna is pretty strong in lower leagues too! I played her at level 2 yesterday in a bronze tournament and people had no answers!

My favorite is the battle against Prince! Also in an armored up battle, with water inactive, you gotta feel for your opponent LOL!

Yeah, I wished it was a Max Earth team though, but I don't think the result would have been different, without a magic attack of course.

Hmm that would be interesting. With double heal from wood nymph and Khmer princess, there probably could have been a fight.

I have not bought any yet, but I think the Green Dude would be great!!

On melee he is great, trouble is Earth is weak on melee..

Good post

Why are "dice" cards. That's dumb.
