It has been a long time since I felt so happy and so free. For about a week now I was super excited and anxious about my first trip to Cubiro, an area that it seems everyone around here has visited but me. As with the acoustic shell, people who have been to Cubiro always told me "it's boring and there's nothing to do, it's no big deal", but the truth was so liberating that now the only thought that crosses my mind is the next time I go there, with now a little more knowledge and desire to find things I had not seen.
Hace tiempo no me sentía tan feliz y tan libre. Desde hace aproximadamente una semana estaba súper emocionado y ansioso por mi primer viaje a Cubiro, un zona que al parecer todo el mundo por aquí ha visitado menos yo. Al igual que con lo de la concha acústica, la gente que ha ido a Cubiro siempre me decía “es aburrido y no hay nada que hacer, no es la gran cosa”, pero la verdad fue tan liberador que ahora por mi mente solo pasa el pensamiento de la próxima vez que vaya para allá, con ahora un poco más de conocimiento y ganas de encontrar cosas que no había visto.
I had been thinking about getting lost for a long time, and this was the closest thing to getting lost that I could do with the assurance of returning home perfectly fine. No signal, not knowing where I was going when I was walking, but together with amazing people who made me feel at ease at every moment.
I rode a horse, and although I only got to do it once, I did it as fast as I could and had no idea I liked doing it so much. I met a pregnant dog who was looking for some TLC and I even met a mare with her son. It was all so beautiful and surreal that I still think it was a dream.
Desde hace tiempo estaba pensando en perderme, y eso fue lo más parecido a perderme que podría hacer con la seguridad de regresar perfectamente bien a mi casa. Sin señal, sin saber a dónde iba cuándo estaba caminando, pero junto a personas increíbles que me hicieron sentir a gusto en cada momento.
Monté a caballo, y aunque solo pude hacerlo una vez, lo hice lo más rápido posible y no tenía ni idea de que me gustaba tanto hacerlo. Me encontré con una perrita embarazada que estaba buscando que le hicieran cariño e incluso encontré a una yegua con su hijo. Todo fue tan precioso y surreal que sigo pensando que fue un sueño.
The grass so green led to a gray horizon so sunny that it seemed inexplicable how two such different climates could coexist so perfectly. Children learning to walk, falling down and standing up again and again as they laughed and tried to run after balls and dogs. Far in the background, if you looked hard enough, you could see people climbing higher and higher, biking or jogging, maybe slowly, but never resting; people enjoying the weather, taking pictures or having a picnic. I also managed to see a group of children who were apparently on some vacation plan as they were doing recreational activities.
Everything was magical, I already said it, but now I want to make it clear that I feel it is a goal for me to travel. No matter the destination, no matter if it is something where you can't do anything but appreciate the scenery, I created a need that now can only be filled with travel. I feel that I will be able to do it, and what excites me the most is to think about the moments and the pictures that I will be able to take, and the happiness that it will bring me.
La grama tan verde llevaba a un horizonte gris tan soleado que parecía inexplicable cómo podían convivir de forma tan perfecta dos climas tan diferentes. Los niños aprendiendo a caminar, cayéndose y parándose una y otra vez mientras reían y trataban de correr tras pelotas y perros. Muy en el fondo, si forzabas la vista, podías ver gente subiendo más y más, en bicicleta o trotando, tal vez lento, pero nunca descansando; personas disfrutando del clima tomándose fotos o haciendo algún picnic. También logre ver a un grupo de niños que estaban al parecer en algún plan vacacional ya que estaban haciendo actividades recreativas.
Todo fue mágico, ya lo dije, pero quiero ahora dejar en claro que siento que es una meta para mi viajar. No importa el destino, no importa si es algo dónde no se puede hacer nada más que apreciar el paisaje, creé una necesidad que ahora solo se puede llenar con viajes. Siento que lo podré hacer, y lo que me emociona de todo es pensar en los momentos y las fotos que voy a lograr hacer, en la felicidad que me va a traer.
