Hello to all art and collage lovers! Today I would like to show you a project that I just finished, it is a collage made with magazine clippings. For a few months now, I have been participating in the community collage contests Let's Make a Collage and I have gotten hooked on the possibility of creating images new and creative, from the union of several images. So I decided to try to make a collage in a more physical way and this was the result I obtained:
In order to do it, I used a magazine that had several prints of watches on its pages. For the background, I used one of the pages, which was somewhat damaged, but I really liked it because of its green color, since it is my favorite color.
I cropped out all the clock images. There were a few large ones that I really liked, but the big challenge came with the miniature clocks that were printed along the pages. In total I cut out 70 watches. I did it in a couple of hours each day, because it was a tedious task that required a lot of concentration to be able to cut them without damaging them.
Once I had all the pieces cut out, what I thought was to make a collage where the clocks or time were the protagonist. To do this, I first located the large pieces and made them around the huge clock in the center, gluing them with school glue.
The next thing I did was cover some stains on the sheet and to do this I chose the color black, since most of the watches were black and white. With a brush, I made a few touches until I covered the parts that seemed best to me. Likewise, with the green color, I filled in the part where the leaf had been torn.
I placed a little green where they had previously painted with black and in the area of the central clock, with the help of a fine tip black marker, I made some lines to restore the image a little, but without hiding all that." crack", as a kind of subliminal message about a "break" in time.
Again with the help of the brush, I drew an arrow to place on the hands of the clock, since I only had one image of this type. Also, I painted the nails on the hands that are pointing towards the central clock. Finally, I glued the small clocks throughout the collage.
I loved the final result and I admit that it was very relaxing to make. I hope to be able to get more magazines so I can make more collages of this style and be able to decorate a wall with them. ¡Hola a todos los amantes del arte y de los collages! El día de hoy me gustaría mostrarles un proyecto que acabo de terminar, se trata de un collage realizado con recortes de revista. Desde hace unos meses atrás, he estado participando en los concursos de collages de la comunidad Let's Make a Collage y me he enganchado con la posibilidad de crear imágenes nuevas y creativas, a partir de la unión de varias imágenes. Por lo que me animé a intentar a hacer un collage de manera más física y éste, fue el resultado que obtuve:
Para poder realizarlo, utilicé una revista que tenía en sus hojas, varias impresiones de relojes. Para el fondo, utilicé una de las páginas, que estaba algo estropeada, pero que me gustó bastante por su color verde, ya que es mi color favorito.
Recorté todas las imágenes de relojes. Habían unas cuantas grandes que me gustaron bastante pero el gran desafío, llegó con los relojes en miniaturas que estaba impresos a lo largo de las páginas. En total recorté 70 relojes. Lo hice en un par de horas cada día, porque era una labor tediosa que necesitaba de mucha concentración para poder cortarlos sin dañarlos.
Una vez que tuve todas las piezas recortadas, lo que pensé fue en realizar un collage en donde los relojes o el tiempo, fueran el protagonista. Para ello, primero ubiqué las piezas grandes y lo hice alrededor del enorme reloj del centro, pegándolas con pegamento escolar.
Lo siguiente que hice, fue tapar algunas manchas que tenía la hoja y para ello escogí el color negro, dado que la mayoría de los relojes, eran de color blanco y negro. Con un pincel, realicé unos toques hasta cubrir las partes que mejor me parecieron. Igualmente, con el color verde, rellené la parte en donde la hoja, había sido rasgada.
Coloqué un poco de color verde en donde habían pintado previamente con el negro y en la zona del reloj central, con ayuda de un marcador punta fina de color negro, realicé unas líneas para restaurar un poco la imagen, pero sin ocultar de todo aquella "grieta", como una especie de mensaje subliminal acerca de una "rotura" en el tiempo.
De nuevo con la ayuda del pincel, dibujé una flecha para colocarla en las manecillas del reloj, siendo que sólo tenía una imagen de éste tipo. También, pinté las uñas de las manos que están apuntando hacia el reloj central. Finalmente, pegué los relojes pequeños en todo el collage.
Me encantó el resultado final y admito que fue muy relajante elaborarlo. Espero poder conseguir más revistas para poder realizar más collages de éste estilo y poder decorar una pared con ellos. Wooow! Me encanta tu collage Sue, sabe me recordó a la serie de Loki, ya que todo se trata del tiempo y la linea temporal, además que cuenta con una IA que es un reloj animado que aparece en forma de holograma y bueno el color de este personaje es el verde, así que todo me lleva en ese sentido!

El color verde es muy característico, tuyo, los relojes elegidos y el detalle de los de menor tamaño le dieron su toque especial, me encanto.

En cuanto me topé con esa página con fondo verde, quise trabajar sobre ella 😆 A pesar de que se trataba de una revista científica, me ayudó bastante que hubieran tantas ilustraciones de relojes en sus páginas.
