Hivesigner user interface got simplified. Here is the summary of new 0.2.0 release.
What's new in Hivesigner
Hivesigner UI 0.2.0 is full of enhancements you will appreciate everyday, especially dapp developers will love how simplified authenticating a user. New login screens make you even more productive and less confusing. Just login and start using, or just unlock and start using, no more multiple clicks and confusing breadcrumbs.

Finally! Just tried it and it works smoothly!
bonustrack did a great job re-designing steemconnect (hivesigner), but IMO made it a bit too complex with too many pages & steps.
👍 Sometimes over explanation is not worth it, simplicity better.
Single page is better and single click even more so. I think, few changes here and there, we can make it even more easier to manage multiple accounts.

This is really a good news, at least for me, as sometimes I was truly struggling with it. Thank you!
Now, login pages became just 1 page instead of 3 pages which we used to have and flow is becoming easier. We have one more improvement in roadmap which will allow you to login or sign with single click, so we are preparing ground work for that.

Who knows maybe hivesigner will finally work on my browser.
I hope that HiveSigner has an extension/add-on for Mozilla Firefox.
I might also install it on Tor Browser, which is a hardened version of Firefox. I always use Tor Browser to access any Hive app using my @anonymouser account. I might become willing to take the risk of installing any extension on Tor Browser, since I also have a VPN running on my computer (from a reputable provider) which will protect my identity as a last resort.
Hivesigner never records any personal data, all happens client side without backend. I will check if we can create Firefox extension out of what we have with minor changes. Thanks!
If privacy is important why not use the brave browser? It’s one of the best from my understanding and you can earn BAT crypto if you want to it into brave rewards.

I already use the Brave Browser for online activities which do not require heavy privacy protection. Using Tor Browser for Facebook or Google breaks the website, so those are examples of where I use Brave Browser. (Everyone has their own threat model, and my use of either the Brave Browser or Tor Browser depends on what exactly I need online.)
I like Brave Browser's privacy protection features. The only thing it can't do is to hide your IP address from the sites you visit, or hide your browsing activity from your ISP. In that case, I use the Tor browser.

Ah so that’s the benefit of the Tor browser. That’s interesting! On my laptop I can’t do anything nefarious since it’s owned by my work but I will keep that in mind. I plan to eventually convert one of our older laptops to an Ubuntu Linux laptop at some point to do some research. I like the deep dives community here but a lot of the searches are risky and it’s not worth getting fired for or anything like that so I’ve abstained from it.
Will put the browser on my list of things to get.
Regarding the BAT rewards for using Brave Browser, I can't claim them without giving up a lot of my privacy by undergoing identity verification with Uphold. I just contribute them automatically to the websites I visit, since I could not withdraw them. That said, I want Brave to partner with something that would allow withdrawal of BAT without giving up (much) privacy.

I already found a bug. Not really a bug but more of a UX thing. I was trying to buy pigs in the new piggericks Dapp, and I logged in with Hive signer. First of all I couldn't log in even though I was using hive signer in the past (maybe it's because of the update).
I had to import my account again, and it asked to enter my username along with my posting key or password. I tried to use my posting key multiple times but it didn't work, I just couldn't buy the pigs. Then I used the master password and it worked.
It is confusing that it asks for either keys but in reality needs at least the active key.
Can you please share link to dapp and where they are using hivesigner to test it out? Thanks!

Do you know who is the developer? Looks like they are not using Hivesigner SDK and there might be issue with their setup. Also did you try it again today, we did small update yesterday evening, might have fixed your issue.
I don't know who is the dev but I commented on the annoucement post of piggericks and @knircky replied.
I am no longer having a problem when I sign in, but I don't know if it's because of the update or because I used my master password.
Can you logout and try again without master password to confirm 100% ? Thank you!
when I logout and login again, I only need the hivesigner password which I chose. No longer need hive keys.
I only needed the hive keys the first time when I needed to import my account.
Also, since we're talking, I added the Hivesigner browser extension for chrome and don't see the added benefits. Hivesigner was working well without it.
And it is causing the same problem as keychain: whenever it asks for a confirmation it takes me off my browser to my desktop screen. For keychain, this only happens on Mac computers when the browser is in full screen mode. I guess it is the same for hivesigner but didn't see others confirm it yet.
Finally, I would love a "no need to ask for confirmation in the future checkmark" similar to keychain. It renders a smoother experience.

We have deprecated desktop app because it wasn't being used much, extension has some decent use and has some advantages. But for better user experience across the web, it might be good idea to consider deprecating that as well, will have to re-evaluate.

Wonderful update on the site. I love the update on login of multiple accounts because in past many have lost their account due to tampered or exposure of keys during copy and paste.
And I Wish that hive should touch the recovery of password making it more easy for users to restore there password.

Since the update, I'm having problems logging into Hive Voter, once I import the account and put the keys (because I uninstalled the extension and reinstalled it), when I try to enter https://hive.vote/ and put my HiveSigner password, it keeps thinking about an infinite loop and doesn't allow the entry to the application, can you help me?
I just tried to login without saving to device, seem to work fine, also tried saving to device with hivesigner, also working.
Can you use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl Shift J (on Windows) or Ctrl Option J (on Mac) and see if you get any error messages there when you get infinite loop?
