Greetings everyone, this is my entry to the Best Game Memories contest in the Hive Gaming community, I have been wanting to participate for several days, but it was not until today that I decided which memory to share precisely.
I am one of those people who love animals, almost all kinds because there are very few exceptions, since I was little I have loved dogs, and that is why together with my Ds Lite they gave me one of the many versions of Nintendogs, precisely Dalmatian & Friends, my parents chose very well since the Dalmatian is one of my favorite dog breeds. ^^
At that time I could not have pets since I am allergic to almost any type of furry animal, however over the years it is something my body has gotten used to, the fact is that it seemed incredible to me how in such a small console it was possible have up to three pets at a time, even more, but you could only keep 3 in your virtual home while the others were in daycare.
The graphics were not the best but the beauty of being children is that those things did not really matter at that time, in our minds the games were saved with hyper realistic graphics, and all that without the need for 4k resolutions, ray-tracing or raw power on the console.
In case anyone does not have much idea what Nintendogs is about, you start by choosing a puppy from among several different breeds, it is simply a matter of choosing your favorite, and then you can come back for one of the others if you wish when you have money.
As you play, more races are unlocked, like the Huskies, which are also a beautiful race in my opinion.
Once you have your puppy, you have to give him a name and say it several times so that he gets used to your voice, so, you can call him simply by saying his name in front of the microphone, but it is easier to whistle since the voice recognition can fail if we do not use the exact tone with which we introduce our voice the first time, also if the years go by and the voice changes it can be a problem.
Once we have our puppy named, we can start to play with him, pet him, feed him and teach him things, for example, we can make him sit down, and assign him a voice command to do so, so every time we say "sit down", or whatever we have said, will sit down.
But these puppies are not robots, so they sometimes obey, and sometimes not, to improve this we can caress them every time they do something well that we ask of them, to enhance their obedience and their emotional relationship with us.
The amount of orders is quite large, but it is not something completely mandatory to move forward, and to be honest it gave me a headache trying to get my first puppy to learn all those things, anyway there is much more to do in the game.
We can take our puppy for a walk, but without leaving the house, very practical right? ^^
For this we draw a line on the map marking the route we want to travel, this is limited since our puppy gets tired, and at the beginning he will not be able to travel very long distances, but later as we walk and play with him, his resistance will increase and we can go further.
Walking we can meet other owners, gifts, and places like stores or parks where we can train with our puppy for competitions.
Yes, we can participate in contests, they are our way of earning money to buy food and things for our puppies, apart from also buying new puppies to keep the one we already have company.
There are three types, Disc, Agility, and Obedience.
The discus require that we throw a frisbee so that our puppy goes after him and brings him back, here his physical fitness is put into practice because if he has not trained enough he will not be able to catch the frisbee if we throw him too far, at as is his obedience, because if he catches it, he may stay playing with him instead of bringing him instantly.
In agility, it is necessary to train first in the specific gym, where there are several tests that we must make our puppy go through, such as elongated tubes, several ups and downs, and jumping bars, here it depends mostly on resistance and agility the puppy has to pass each test.
Finally, hell, TT obedience contests
In these, our puppy's obedience is simply evaluated, they will ask us to give him orders, and if he does them right, they give us points, the problem is that, IF HE DOES THEM RIGHT.
To give the orders we used voice recognition, and it is quite frustrating when you told him to do something, and he did something else, or he did nothing, which caused him to finish under the required amount of points and fail in the contest, it's the only thing in the game that really brings me war flashbacks to be honest.
The rest is a beautiful game, where in short you can do many of the things you do with a real pet, you can even attach accessories to make them look cute, bathe and feed them, it is also possible to connect with a friend so that one of our puppies play with another from the other console.
Today I still have the cartridge, and continuing to see my beloved puppies after so many years gives me incredible nostalgia and joy.

Saludos a todos, esta es mi entrada al concurso de Best Game Memories en la comunidad de Hive Gaming, llevo varios días queriendo participar, pero no fue sino hasta hoy que me decidí por cual memoria compartir precisamente.
Soy de esas personas que aman a los animales, casi de todo tipo pues son muy pocas las excepciones, desde pequeña he amado a los perros, y por eso junto con mi Ds Lite me regalaron una de las muchas versiones de Nintendogs, precisamente, Dalmatian & Friends, mis padres escogieron muy bien ya que el dálmata es una de mis razas caninas favoritas. ^^
Por aquél entonces no podía tener mascotas ya que soy alérgica a casi cualquier tipo de animal peludo, sin embargo con los años es algo a lo que mi cuerpo se ha acostumbrado, el caso es que me parecía increíble como en una consola tan pequeña era posible tener hasta tres mascotas a la vez, incluso más, pero solo podías conservar 3 en tu casa virtual mientras los demás estaban en la guardería.
Los gráficos no eran los mejores pero lo lindo de ser niños, es que realmente esas cosas no importaban en ese momento, en nuestra mente los juegos quedaban guardados con gráficos hiperrealistas, y todo eso sin necesidad de resoluciones 4k, ray-tracing o potencia bruta en la consola.
Por si alguno no tiene mucha idea de que trata Nintendogs, empiezas eligiendo a un cachorro de entre varias razas diferentes, simplemente es cosa de elegir tu favorito, y luego puedes volver por alguno de los otros si así lo deseas cuando tengas dinero.
Conforme juegas se van desbloqueando más razas, como los Huskys, que también son una raza hermosa en mi opinión.
Una vez tengas tu cachorro, tienes que darle nombre y decírselo varias veces para que se acostumbre a tu voz, así, puedes llamarlo simplemente diciendo su nombre frente al micrófono, pero es más fácil silbar ya que el reconocimiento de voz puede fallar si no usamos el tono exacto con el que introducimos nuestra voz la primera vez, también si pasan los años y la voz cambia puede ser un problema.
Una vez tenemos nuestro cachorro nombrado, podemos empezar a jugar con él, acariciarlos, alimentarlo y enseñarle cosas, por ejemplo, podemos hacer que se siente, y asignarle un comando de voz para que lo haga, así cada vez que le digamos “siéntate”, o lo que hayamos dicho, se sentará.
Pero estos cachorros no son robots, por lo que a veces obedecen, y a veces no, para mejorar esto podemos acariciarlos cada vez que hacen bien algo que les pidamos, para potenciar su obediencia y su relación afectiva con nosotros.
La cantidad de órdenes es bastante amplia, pero no es algo completamente obligatorio para avanzar, y siendo sincera se me hizo un dolor de cabeza intentar que mi primer cachorro aprendiera todas esas cosas, de todas formas hay mucho más para hacer en el juego.
Podemos sacar a pasea a nuestro cachorro, pero sin salir de casa, ¿muy práctico verdad? ^^
Para esto trazamos una línea en el mapa marcando la ruta que queremos recorrer, esta es limitada ya que nuestro cachorro se cansa, y al inicio no podrá recorrer distancias muy largas, pero luego conforme lo paseemos y juguemos con él, su resistencia aumentará y podemos ir más lejos.
Paseando nos podemos encontrar con otros dueños, regalos, y lugares como tiendas o parques donde podemos entrenar con nuestro cachorro para los concursos.
Sí, podemos participar en concursos, son nuestra forma de ganar dinero para comprar comida y cosas para nuestros cachorros, aparte de comprar también nuevos cachorros para hacerle compañía al que ya tengamos.
Hay tres tipos, de disco, de agilidad, y de obediencia.
Los de disco requieren que arrojemos un frisbee para que nuestro cachorro vaya tras él y lo traiga de vuelta, aquí se pone en práctica su aptitud física porque si no ha entrenado lo suficiente no será capaz de atrapar el frisbee si lo arrojamos muy lejos, al igual que su obediencia, pues si lo atrapa es posible que se quede jugando con él en lugar de traerlo al instante.
En los de agilidad, es necesario entrenar primero en el gimnasio específico, donde hay varias pruebas por las cuales debemos hacer pasar a nuestro cachorro, como tubos alargados, varios sube y baja, y barras para saltar, aquí depende mayormente de la resistencia y agilidad que tenga el cachorro para superar cada prueba.
Finalmente, el infierno, los concursos de obediencia TT
En estos simplemente se evalúa la obediencia de nuestro cachorro, nos pedirán que le demos órdenes, y si las hace bien, nos dan puntos, el problema es ese, SI LAS HACE BIEN.
Para dar las órdenes usamos el reconocimiento por voz, y es bastante frustrante cuando le decías que hiciera algo, y hacía otra cosa, o no hacía nada, lo que causaba que terminara por debajo de la cantidad de puntos requerida y fracasara en el concurso, es lo único del juego que realmente me trae flashbacks de guerra siendo sincera.
El resto, es un juego precioso, donde en resumidas cuentas puedes hacer muchas de las cosas que haces con una mascota real, incluso puedes colocarles accesorios para que se vean lindos, bañarlos y alimentarlos, también es posible conectarse con un amigo para que uno de nuestros cachorros juegue con otro de la otra consola.
Hoy día aún conservo el cartucho, y seguir viendo a mis queridos cachorros después de tantos años me produce una increíble nostalgia y alegría.

Espero que disfruten de leerlo así como yo disfruté escribirlo, incluso me dieron ganas de jugar un poco más al Nintendogs, por suerte mi Ds aún funciona, es todo un guerrero.

Oh hace años no veía algo sobre este juego! Me gusta mucho, tenia varios perritos hermosos que me gustaría tener ahora en la vida real jajajaja Recuerdo que mi micrófono no funcionaba, por lo que no podía darles ordenes a los cachorros. Pero sin duda alguna Nintendogs fue un excelente juego de la infancia!
Es una pena lo de tu micrófono, por suerte es posible hacer otras cosas sin necesidad del micrófono y no es obligatorio a menos que desees que aprendan órdenes y participen en el concurso de obediencia.
Yo de tanto participar en los otros dos concursos me terminé haciendo millonaria haha ^^, de verdad que es de los juegos que recuerdo con más cariño durante mi infancia.

Me recuerdo muy bien de este juego, me frustré intentando hacer que el perro aprendiera el nombre que le quería poner, sino recuerdo mal ni se lo aprendió, así que no lo jugué más, el reconocimiento de voz de ese juego no era muy bueno que digamos jajaja
Sip, el reconocimiento de voz podría estar bastante mejor, es el origen de muchas desgracias ^^U
Sin embargo cuando logras superar la prueba de la selección de nombre el resto es más divertido, solo no hay que acercarse mucho a las cosas que requieran reconocimiento por voz.
