CyberPunk 2077 System Requirements are in! (They Are Not as Bad as We Expected)

Before I get started, I can't believe this game is finally coming out, it was announced over 8 years ago! Almost a decade in the making and with the coronavirus going around, the time has gotten even slower for a lot of us so, the wait has been more excruciating. I doubt the game will live up to a decade of hype but I don't think it will be bad either, people will just need to accept it as it is and see it evolve but CD Projekt Red has delivered in the past and it is not wrong to expect that they will deliver as well this time!

One aspect of the game that kept many people in their toes over the years where the graphic requirements of the game, because in the trailers and gameplay videos it just looks plain gorgeous and beyond whatever was available back in 2012 and beyond what is available today, so a lot of people were concerned that the game wouldn't really be that accessible for people without the high-end gear but it turns out everyone was wrong.

Back in the day when the witcher 3 released, it was plainly, a disaster for CD Projekt Red... The game was amazing but it was a resource hog, with time due to improvements to both computer hardware and optimizations to the game, the Witcher 3 is now playable in a wide spectrum of computers and consoles, including the Nintendo Switch, so it can run on non-powerful hardware as well.

The CDPR seems to have learned their lesson this time and from the get-go, the game is coming really optimized for all kinds of hardware as they recently shared on their system requirements on a tweet.

The minimum system requirements are a joke, its basic potato level for 2020, and for the recommended system requirements, which its usually aimed at high stuff and not ultra, you should be fine rolling with a GTX 1060, which is a graphics card from 2016, so you should be able to find good deals on these depending on where you live... especially after all the mining craze.

On the processor side, it is pretty healthy as well, 4790 is almost 7 generations old at this point and 12gb of ram should be accessible to anyone for below $100.

The only thing I feel that might left out a couple of people is the size of the game, they claim you can play it on an HDD but rumors say otherwise, to the point of having to wait minutes on loading screens and SSD being an almost requirement and I'm afraid not a lot of people are there yet for that, so when a lot of people start complaining about loading screens, you'll know why.

I have really enjoyed writing a bit about computer hardware, its been a while, maybe I should try to make it a thing for myself, I'm always looking for new things to try.
