Learning to play dCity

in Hive Gaming2 years ago

Hello Play2Earn Gamers!

I have been playing dCity for a while now, but not so actively. Mostly I have been buying some extra SIM where possible to try and work towards holding 1 million in SIM for the huge giveaways that are happening. This is not the only reason, you can also get amazing returns of over 40% and you get paid daily.

My city currently looks like this:

You can see that I have 60109 SIM so far and not too much going on in my city. I have 22 people and earn 5 SIM each day.

Some of the recent events happening in my city are:

I am still trying to figure out what this all means and what I should do, but it's all part of the learning process.

To expand my city I put in a bid for 10 SIMs to try and expand my population. I also just bought an apartment block for them to live in.

This has had a bad effect on my SIM income already. It is now -1 for this apartment block!!

My next step will be to find something for my SIMs to do as they are all unemployed.

I then invested a further 4501 SIM in a police station, a shopping mall, and 4 scientists!!

This will give my city a nice boost and I will have to monitor the effects and see what adjustments that I will need to make.

Looking at my new stats, you can see my population is now unbalanced and I need to find work for those lazy scientists. My population has now increased from 22 to 53. My popularity has also increased from 15 to 29. So that's a good step in the right direction.

My ranking is now 1614 based on population but also 1130 based on income. I will need to try and improve these metrics going forward.

Thanks for reading.

Nice to see your city grow. I had started to play dcity a long time ago and I rather enjoyed it but then there were some updates and now the game is too "spreadsheeted" for me... if this is even a word. What I mean is that it has become so complicated, I don't feel any connection to it anymore and it's a pitty because I have quite a big city that is idle somewhere in the Metaworld...

Totally know what you mean - it's the kind of thing I think I would have been into if I had been there from the beginning and learned about each change as it happens. But coming into it it just seems too complicated to be worth it... on the upside your city does look pretty cool!

There are so many variables that you would need a kind of handbook to know what to do lol. I have way too many homeless people but I don't even know what I should do against it :-)

I'm starting to get the idea that no-one knows what they are doing with their cities! I've never found a good/up to date guide either. However this chat has made me want to have another stab at it!

Wow, that's a big city. I think spreadsheeted could be a word used by accountants still! Lol

It's a big city but I have no idea what I sould do with it lol

Oh my God! That's why I've opened this game several times. And closed it again.... 😅 !LOLZ

I also have a D.City - but I also found it pretty confusing to setup so I got it to the point where it was a small but at least slightly profitable city and then left if. But I've also this week just got to the point of holding 1 million sim (from buying it - not from my citys income!) - so maybe I should look at my city again... hmmmm...

Great work on the 1m SIM! Fingers crossed you can win some good prizes! It does take some thought and I hope I can get to a good place with my city! !PGM !CTP

Yeah I'll let you know if I get any further with mine too!

Nice one. I'm back from holidays at the weekend so will catch you Monday night! 🎵🎵🎵

Oh awesome - will be great to 'see' you!

I wanted to play this game but it was too complicated for me. After your article I understood some things more, thanks for sharing. There are many people in our community who play dcity and blockchain games. You can also check out their posts. This way you will make more friends to play together.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm reading quite abit from others but will check further. 😎👍

Do people just like tossing money down the drain? You're aware of the "earn" part of play to earn, right? This sounds like a joke.

I'm a big fan of strategy games, so figuring this out is a fun challenge for me. If it was easy, every one would be rocking up and running away with a ton of crypto. I am also earning 38% on my SIM holdings and receive daily Hive payouts... It's already earning... Not to mention the leverage opportunities 😉

I bought a few cards and got nowhere ! I need to figure it out better, when I have time. Good luck !

I'd like to join that 1 million SIM club as well, and it is a long term goal of mine. This game can be fun and I enjoyed playing it as I like "God" games. Had to step away due to time and resource constraints, but the point is to someday return. :)

Yeah me too. Have played many different ones in the past.
