Looks like you've made a great start. We have five compost heaps with some of the most beautiful soil you can imagine. We juice vegetables each day, so we have a lot of pulp, loads of straw, mounds of chicken shit and then 32 little chucky legs working all day scratching away like mad and turning over the soil. We cover our heaps with rhubarb leaves and the result is just amazing and in very little time too.

I would love to be able to compost like that! But we can't, since it would attract rats. Also, most of our organic leftovers go to a friend's pigs.
But compost is really fast here, too! It takes only 3 months for a pile to be done (if there are worms...). And I do enjoy turning compost and sieving it. Reminds me of my childhood. Also, it's a good work out.
