RE: Landscape Photography: admiring the Czech Grand Caynon

in Liketu10 months ago

Holly molly! Believe me or not, but yesterday I got a post on my feed from a Facebook 'friend' (which I don't even know) who posted a picture from the same canyon and was wondering about it but didn't dare to ask him for details since we spoke before.

So considering that I ran now into your post, can you please share details about this canyon please? :D For example if the trail is marked and safe to follow with friends that are not into mountain hikes, as well if we can reach it only with a train ride since we won't have a car to move from one point to another?

I'm really super amazed by the beauty Czehia has to offer so will definitely turn into a pain to create our travel plan and what to visit each day during our stay because I am afraid I will miss some of the most beautiful places out there haha :)

Hey Gabriela! Actually, if you didn´t stop by, I would tag you in this post because I thought you would like this place and might want to include it in your itinerary :)

These quarries (there are actually more of them in this area) are easily accessible on foot from the Karlstejn Castle, which is just a short (30 minutes) train ride from Prague so you can definitely make it ;) The path around the crater is safe, well marked and well maintained so even your "non hiking" friends will make it ;)

No worries, haha, we are a small country but with a lot to offer :) I have spent most of my life in the Czech Republic but there are still so many cool places here that I haven´t visited yet so don´t be afraid of missing some :) Even if you pack your itinerary as much as possible, you will see just a tiny fraction of what the country offers but it´s ok and it will make you want to come back ;) You will enjoy your time here, I´m 100% sure...

That's awesome! Because so far when I visited a foreign country we only focused on urban tourist attractions and didn't dare to see the outdoors just because we were afraid the trails won't be marked and that we also needed a car to reach them. So you made my day with this news and we'll definitely include both the canyon and the caste in our itinerary!

No doubt about wanting to return someday as it always happened to us to see a country and then find out about some more places from the same country which we missed and made us want to return one day. In fact, I've been exploring Romania for almost 15 years and still didn't see all of it, so I can understand the struggle to have a good itinerary in just 5-6 days of staying. But will keep an eye out on your posts to steal some more destinations from Czehia for sure, haha :D

No problem, I will help you prepare the itinerary :) In fact, I don´t drive so I also use just trains, buses, public transport and my legs when I explore new places here so I will give you some tips on cool places (both urban and natural) that you can visit easily like that ;) In fact, there are amazing natural places even in Prague. Just google out some pictures of for example "Prokopské Údolí", "Divoká Šárka" or "Průhonický Park". I wrote posts about them too but it would take me ages to find them now :D

That's exactly how I trip too! Only with public transport or by walking. Thank you for some more recommendations, adding these to my list 😁
