I usually start decorating for Christmas in November, but the anxiety was killing me, and sometimes I just want to do things impulsively, so I started putting up Christmas lights at my front door. Halloween isn't celebrated in my country, even though it's a holiday I've always wanted to experience. There aren't many Halloween-themed celebrations here, so I just have to cling to the hope and joy of Christmas, haha.

Last year I also decorated my front door with lights, but back then I used some "cascade" lights I bought. Honestly, I hated them because they were a mess, so after Christmas I threw them away. Today I used some of the lights I used for my Christmas tree. The thing is, they were quite long, and I had to put them all around the entrance. That was quite difficult because I had to put in more nails and hang them strategically so they wouldn't keep falling off. It took me a long time, and even though my husband wanted to help me put them up, I always like to do these things myself so they turn out exactly how I want them.

I smashed my finger a thousand times with the hammer, it still hurts, and I almost didn't put up the lights because they kept slipping off the nails. Luckily, I managed to wrap them tightly around each nail and keep them pressed down so they didn't come off.

And in the end, as I calculated, I had to put the lights all around the entrance. The size was perfect to cover this whole place. Last year I only decorated the door area with the cascading lights, and now the whole entrance of my house shines quite brightly and I like it a lot, haha.

Although I love these lights, I must admit I miss the old ones. I don't know what they were called, but they weren't LEDs like these and they had a completely different feel. Everything looked warmer and more colorful, but I never managed to find those kinds of lights again. Even so, I love how my house looks from the outside. I decorated it with a little Christmas house that's also a lamp, and of course, my nutcracker, which you can barely see in the photos, haha.
