How much the top authors earn in Hive? Please give the figures in USD? Quora-Hive Awareness.

Generally, the authors in Hive are rewarded in HP, HBD, HIVE. Further, the authors who chose 100% power up are rewarded in HP only whereas the authors who chose 50/50 reward are rewarded in HP and HBD in general. This can be HP, HIVE, HBD, or HP, HIVE also depending on the debt ratio. However, as long as the price of HIVE is above 0.22 or so, the reward is in HP and HBD only, as the debt ratio goes below 9% with a rise in HIVE value. I am not going into the details of the Debt ratio, you can find the answer in this space.

I am taking the monthly reward figures as that will give a better and consistent projection of earning of authors.

In the month of May 2020, as many as 8656 authors were rewarded through the Proof-of-Brain mechanism of Hive Blockchain. The cumulative rewards for all the authors in the month of May 2020 are 134523.941 HBD and 428853.063 Hive Power.

Hive mostly traded in a range of 0.28 to 0.44 USD range in the month of May 2020. So I am taking an average value of 0.35 for HIVE to project the USD equivalent and 1 HBD= 1 USD.

So in total 284622.68 USD rewarded to the authors in the month of May 2020.

Now for the earning of top authors of Hive, I am considering the top 15 authors in the month of May 2020 to have a general understanding.

ds5.png

I have taken the data from Hive-db.com

As you can see, the top 15 author's reward in HP and HBD. Some of them have earned more HP(possibly they have chosen 100% power up rewards).

Although @hivewatchers tops the list, we know the role of Hive watchers is different (to check spam, plagiarism, identity theft, etc); so in the monthly earning(by sidelining @hivewatchers) of top authors in Hive, @oflyhigh(3041HP, 1021 HBD), @taskmaster4450(2720 HP, 213 HBD), @jrcornel(1942 HP, 663 HBD), @krnel(1852 HP, 612 HBD), lead the front.

Now to project the same earning in terms of USD equivalent, I have taken 0.35 USD as the average value of HIVE in the month of May and 1 HBD= 1 USD. Now the simplified earning figures in terms of USD look like this.

ds2.png

Sidelining Hivewathers, again @oflyhigh stands out with a total earning of 2085 USD, @jrcornel comes second with 1343 USD, @krnel comes third with 1260 USD, and @tarazkp comes fourth with 1218 USD.

This projection and the entire analysis is a testimony of how a blockchain-based community-driven decentralized platform like Hive is changing the lives of authors. Whilst the top authors are making as high as 2000 USD per month, the average figure of the top 15 authors is more than 1000 USD. This is the figure when the HIVE value is 0.35 USD. Just imagine, what could be the same figure when HIVE trades higher.

Those who are consistently writing and producing content in Hive Blockchain are in the driving seat and they can certainly change their lives in the next 1-2 years as Bitcoin and the crypto market is posed for the next bull run.

The above figures speak itself why Hive glares as the next-gen blogging platform. Of course, the future is decentralized, but the community is something that is very unique about Hive Blockchain. The paradigm is shifting to web 3.0.

Hive on!

All the images are my own work and the data is taken from Hive-db.com. Thank you.

Your numbers are wrong for numbers of posts at least - don't know about the rest. If you are counting top level posts, I have around 60-70 for May, if you are counting comments as well, I have around 1500 - so, which is it? I know for a fact my brother (galenkp) is not posting 9 times a day, he is posting around 2 also.

I have taken the data from Hive-db.com, if there are anomalies in Hive-db data, then only these figures are wrong as I have reproduced those data in graphical form in this blog.

Ah, so you didn't query the blockchain?

@abh12345 ?

Not sure, I use @hiveSQL. Those numbers look incorrect.

Yes, they are definitely incorrect as I know that Galen gets about 2 posts out a day, not 9 :D

If you want to see what was happening on my account at least:

What I find interesting is that you didn't even question the results that you saw, just posted. Did you actually visit any of the blogs and say, "that is weird, this person has 289 posts and only 2 replies - maybe I should have a look at that" :D

I like numbers and I know there is a bit of margin for error, but these are senseless.

You are right @tarazkp, the nos of posts especially are wrong as I can check Hive-db is not consistent with the actual nos of posts by the authors.

Now I am going to remove the nos of posts part. Thank you for pointing out the error.

No worries. I am pretty sure that hive-db is not accurate as I remember steemdb having issues with some calculations also. I think HiveSQL is the standard, but it is not my area.

Hey ... nice one :)
Love the $ value and the no. of posts info!

You are welcome.
$ value is more interesting and more generalized for all.
Nos of posts further gives an insight how active the author is.

I have done something similar recently ... but converter all into HIVE :)
For simplicity ... overall the results are the same
