So India added 20,000 new cases yesterday bringing our total to 530,000 and today it seems we're adding another 20,000 making it the new normal. It took us roughly 2.5 months to get to 10,000 cases after the very first case in my country.
Even in my city where cases had briefly tapered off completely has recently witnessed a big spike. Today we added 97 new cases proving that community infection is now on the rise. It's only a matter of time before it spikes further if the situation isn't contained quickly.
But now more than ever I see people entering supermarkets and crowded places without masks or sanitising their hands. This is going to be a long drawn out battle as people remain careless not only here but in so many parts of the world.
COVID-19 is a real issue but many don't feel the same and their recklessness is causing many issues for everyone else. People have gotten really comfortable with the idea of a pandemic and therefore the fear is long gone.
My state has proposed a lockdown once again on Sundays and curfew from 9PM-5AM. It's kinda pointless having these protocols in place when people aren't following basic protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining a safe distance in crowded areas and more importantly COVID-19 doesn't take a break on these hours does it?
It won't be long before we overtake Russia. Top 3 position for India is right around the corner while treatment remains expensive at private hospitals everywhere. Yet I see people roaming around in crowded areas without a care in the world.
This is the time to be rational and think logically. The disease is real no matter what conspiracy theory you claim or believe in. Time to get real and face the facts.
10 million cases globally and only few major nations have a grip on it but the situation looks grim in India where there's no sign of cases peaking out.

People should be more serious. Otherwise it will continue for long time and number of affected people will being increased sharply.
