After several months, I discovered yesterday that my cat… is actually a male cat.
Yes, you read that right.
When it appeared in my life and decided to stay in my apartment, I assumed it was female. I bought him his things, called him "female i cat" for months, and it never occurred to me to question it too much. Until yesterday, due to a series of circumstances, I found out that he's actually male. And to make the story even better, he's also neutered.
I don't know what makes me laugh more: having been wrong for so long or realizing that he never felt the need to correct me. I guess for him, nothing changed. He still sleeps wherever he wants, follows me around the house as if he's lived here his whole life, and acts like the rightful owner of the apartment. The only one surprised in this whole story was me.

Cuando apareció en mi vida y decidió quedarse a vivir en mi departamento, asumí que era hembra. Le compré sus cosas, la llamé “gata” durante meses y jamás se me ocurrió cuestionarlo demasiado. Hasta que ayer, por una serie de circunstancias, me enteré de que en realidad es macho. Y para hacer la historia aún mejor, también está castrado.
No sé qué me da más risa si haber estado equivocada durante tanto tiempo o darme cuenta de que él nunca sintió la necesidad de corregirme. Supongo que para él no cambió nada. Sigue durmiendo donde quiere, siguiéndome por toda la casa como si hubiera vivido aquí toda su vida y actuando como el dueño legítimo del departamento. La única sorprendida en esta historia fui yo.
Haha, omg, but its really hard to tell sometimes their gender esp if they are still a bit young. But at least you now know something about him, lol.
