‎Last Thursday, the power went out at 6:30 in the morning just as the notice had warned us.

‎We were already prepared for it. Thanks to my hubby who's always updated whenever there's a scheduled brownout.

‎Again, we have a plan for how we'd spend the day without electricity, something productive to do.

‎And so after waking up and enjoying a simple breakfast, my hubby decided to transfer our calamansi tree into a pot so we could place it upstairs, where it could get more sunlight.

‎He started digging carefully around the tree, making sure not to hit the roots.

‎He was being extra gentle, wishing it would survive the move.

‎After successfully transferring it into its new pot, my hubby placed it upstairs.

‎And I'm happy to say that until now, it's still alive and kicking, thriving happily in its new spot. 🥳

‎But as the hours went by, the weather turned hotter and hotter, so I thought of a fun idea for the kids.

‎I grabbed the big container, filled it with water, and turned it into an instant mini pool. ☺️

‎Aiden and Ryzen were so excited when they saw it, as they loved splashing and playing together.

‎That's one thing a parent should do to make their little one forget how hot it was.

‎And while they were busy playing, I took the chance to prepare our lunch.

‎As I went upstairs, I noticed the water spinach that my hubby had placed there before.

‎It was growing beautifully!

‎The leaves were fresh and green, soaking up the good sunlight and thriving with the daily watering.

‎And so I grabbed my scissors, cut a few healthy leaves, and decided to include them in our lunch.

As I prepared the rest of the ingredients, my hubby took over the cooking, and I went back to check on the kids.

‎And look how my hubby turned those fresh kangkong leaves into a delicious healthy dish.

‎By the time lunch was ready, I convinced Aiden and Ryzen to get out of the water, dried them off, dressed them, and got them ready to eat.

‎We all sat down for lunch, eating the vegetables we grew ourselves in.

‎And that's how we survived our half-day of brownout.

‎Until our next moments...

Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸

I like how you and your hubby made the most of the brownout, taking care of the plants, keeping the kids happy and preparing a healthy meal together.
