Despite Everything... A Day of Joy. On a family level, this year has been a bit tough in terms of the health of its members. Several members of the family, including myself, have had various health issues that have put us on alert. However, the biggest concern is related to my father's delicate health. You know @omarrojas, who is a member of this community, and although he has remained active in a few things, he has not been able to create or publish content on #hive for quite some time, as his health has prevented him from doing so. Imagine how a person must feel when they cannot create at least one piece of content a week. This situation has also affected him greatly, but the idea is for him to recover.

Certainly, there are times when he is not doing so well, but mostly those are days of worrying relapses, and everyone in the family is focused on caring for him. It is not easy physically or financially, since his treatment is lifelong and costs approximately $250 per month. But we must not give up and must keep going to try to get him back to the person he used to be. So, despite all the difficulties, we took advantage of his birthday to celebrate and see if we could cheer him up a little and help him forget his health concerns for a moment. He is 73 years old, and we hope he will be with us for many more years to come, while we continue to stand firm so that he can move forward.

A Pesar de Todo.. Un Día de Alegría. A nivel familiar; este año ha sido un poco duro en cuando a la salud de sus miembros. Y es que varios integrantes de la familia; incluyéndome, hemos tenido distintas afecciones que nos han puesto en alerta. Sin embargo; la mayor preocupación es la relacionada con la delicada salud que tiene mi papá. Ustedes conocen a @omarrojas, quien es miembro de esta comunidad; y aunque se ha mantenido activo en pocas cosas, hace bastante tiempo no ha podido crear ni publicar contenido en #hive, ya que su estado de salud se lo ha impedido. Imagínense ustedes como se debe sentir una persona; que no puede crear por lo menos un contenido a la semana, esta situación también le ha afectado mucho, pero la idea es que se recupere.

Ciertamente; hay momentos que está regular, pero mayormente son los días de recaída preocupante y todos en la familia estamos abocados hacia su atención. No es fácil física y económicamente; ya que su tratamiento es de por vida y acarrea un costo aproximado de 250$ mensuales. Pero no hay que desmayar y seguir adelante para tratar de lograr que vuelva a ser la persona de antes. Así que dentro de tantas dificultades; aprovechamos y celebramos su cumpleaños para ver si se animaba un poco y por un momento se olvidara de tanta preocupación por su salud. Son 73 años y esperamos que esté con nosotros por muchos años más; mientras por acá seguimos con pie firme para que salga adelante.

Dad didn't want to celebrate anything because he was feeling really bad; however, we all cheered him up, especially his little granddaughter Micaela, who said to him, "Grandpa, let's eat cake, get out of bed." Dad simply couldn't resist those words, and we let him choose which cake he wanted. Dad wanted a strawberry cake, so my brother and I quickly went out to buy it. Although it was a little difficult, thank God we found it quickly and gave him what he wanted. So we all gathered informally to sing to him on his 73rd birthday.

Papá no quería celebrar nada porque realmente se sentía muy mal; sin embargo, todos lo animamos, especialmente su pequeña nieta Micaela quien le decía; abuelo vamos a comer torta, levántate de la cama. Sencillamente; papá no pudo resistirse a esas palabras y le dejamos la decisión de escoger que torta quería. Papá quería una torta de fresas y mi hermano y yo salimos rápidamente a comprarla; y aunque fue un poco difícil, gracias a Dios la ubicamos rápido y le dimos ese gusto. Así que todos de manera informal nos reunimos para cantarle su cumpleaños número 73.

Now, we turned off the lights and began to sing "Happy Birthday" with great joy. The idea was to cheer him up little by little and give him a different kind of experience. At least we achieved that goal, because Dad felt a little happier. Now, after singing, he made his wish, blew out his candle as best he could, and asked for something else: he wanted to cut the cake. We granted him everything he wanted. He grabbed his knife and slowly cut his cake; that would be his piece, ha ha ha. At least we made Dad happy, even if only a little, and then we returned to reality, taking care of him as he deserves. Although we know that his illness will be permanent, we pray to God that he will have a good quality of life. Greetings, and see you soon.

Ahora; apagamos las luces y empezamos a cantar con mucha alegría el cumpleaños feliz. La idea era que se animara poco a poco y pasara un momento distinto. Por lo menos logramos ese objetivo, porque papá se sintió un poco alegre. Ahora; después de cantar, pidió su deseo, como pudo apagó su vela y otra cosa que pidió, fue que él quería cortar la torta. Todo lo que deseaba se lo cumplimos, agarró su cuchillo y poco a poco cortó su torta; ese sería su pedazo jejejeje. Por lo menos; hicimos que papá se alegrara aunque sea un poquito y luego volver a la realidad; atenderlo como se merece, y aunque sabemos que su enfermedad será permanente, rogamos a Dios para que lleve una vida de calidad.
