Leaving the US? Where do crypto-lovers go? Help???

This is the second time I'm putting this question out there, but the first time wasn't really probing enough. It was more like a tentative, nervous question.

Now, it's a big more tentative and nervous! hahaha

For those who have made the move out of the US for crypto-business reasons... where did you go, why, and how long did it take you to decide?

Maybe there are people who are already living in countries that are super crypto-friendly, and you make a case for where you live?

I would so love for anyone to chime in, give counsel, and point me in the best direction to start considering. We aren't moving TOMORROW hahaha we do have time to plan. We're not in a rush, and we also aren't dead set on moving.

It's just the initial stages of curiosity and wondering - is it best to stay in the US??

I am thanking you all in advance for your advice, books, youtubes, etc! :)

Hi @dreemsteem,

all other things aside (I'm no fan of my home country Germany at the moment), Germany is pretty decent for crypto-holders. After one year holding it is completey tax-free!!! Yes, no tax at all. German officials just getting started understanding this "new" thing called crypto. There will be legislation in the future, now it is considered as the same category as precious metal, and that is tax-free as well after one year of holding.
The caveat is with staking gains, DeFi and all the other things other than just holding your initial investment for one year, but it is pretty cool, when you're not a day trader.

Wow that's a pretty sweet deal!!! But of course....it has to be about more than just the crypto, and the fact that you're not so happy with it right now makes me skeptical hehehe

I've just started reading that book that I mentioned in th video and I'm already hooked hahaha

I'm hoping that he's going to seriously walk me through what it's like. I was thinking I might start sharing what I'm learning in videos so people can glean with me without needing to read hahaha...we'll see lol

But as far as countries... I'm toward Central America right now...it's still close-ish to family, but the benefits of being in a place where cost of living is much lower and crypto friendlier too. Hmmmm but we are still so far from this (I think! Hehehe)

Thank you so much for your comment and sharing into the conversation! It would be so cool if others would come and get tips even in the comment section as it builds hehehe

I would say check the Philippines. Pete moved there (as well as Turkey as a second home), from the UK a long time ago, and seemed happy with the crypto situation. Also the Coins.ph system seems really friendly for using crypto in daily life. Maybe Pat could explain that far better than I could :)

interesting - i think you are the second or third person to suggest the Philippines!!!

hmmmm

and i've heard about Turkey as well

you know what i'm looking into - the endless summer locations ! hehehehe have you heard about them?

A friend on another platform moved to the Philippines too for financial reasons (not having much money). He's from the US and travel for family was not an issue before Covid. He's on a fixed income and is renting a farm super cheap :) You should talk to him, it sounds like you would love his area :)

lol I was guessing that you weren't looking at Siberia!

hehehehehe they are places that are sub-tropical, so you think they'd be unbearable cuz they are close to the equator. BUT. they are at 5000 ft elevation - so its literally the perfect weather ALL. YEAR. ROUND hahahaha

is your friend on Hive?

No, but I have been trying to get him here, or at least on Discord, because it's a centralized platform. So we never really know if it'll be there tomorrow!

that's very true.
but with the way things are going... what is really certain anymore?!?!?

for ANYTHING.
centralized - decentralized...

when my power goes off on the mountain - i have no access to either hahahahahahahahahahaha

lol, like in our Pizza Baron world! No Internet there!!!

I hear the Philippines and Puerto Rico are nice...

yes - I heard about Puerto Rico too - but when I went there, I was really surprised by the extreme poverty on one side and the extreme opulence on another!

but maybe that's everywhere????

never thought about the Phillippines!!! but do think I might want to stay closer to family. they are in Florida now.

was looking at Costa Rica, Panama, Belize.

my friend founded the BitcoinBeach in El Salvador - i've been there but I dont want to live there. too much gang violence there - that scares me hahahahaha

but i do think central America is kinda appealing to me!

If you want to make an impact, go down there to Venezuela and start some kind of charity or something similar, could totally see you all over that. Beautiful country and they could use someone like you.

no definitely not there.

We helped someone from Hive escape there. It was a terrible time. His wife got shot in the leg during one of the riots. They are now in Peru with their 2 daughters, and even though its hard times, he always tells me that he would never go back there. It has become so corrupt and continues to get worse.

this is the word of one person (who we still talk to all the time) so - maybe others have other stories. But, the one thing that I do not ascribe to... is going TO a country that has a corrupt government. I know that all governments are corrupt to a degree - because they are humans! LOL but when a government can do to its people what I saw happen in Venezuela through our friend... no, I can't be a part of that. it takes a very special person to be a revolutionary. and that is the mindset of someone going into a situation like that. they must be prepared for a war, and have the stamina for years. I have love and generosity and creativity and I love to inspire hehehe. but i'm not strong enough to be a revolutionary. those people are the true warriors.

Wow!! These are big decisions and also so much confidence in crypto
I have confidence but no way close to my life centred around it
Well, at least not yet

I don't know if you'd look into Asia and I am not sure of where and how... maybe @bitrocker2020 might have some ideas :D

Korea will make you pay taxes on crypto. On the other hand the infrastructure and medical insurance is nice and you probably won't get scammed or mugged (it's safe). I guess the downfall is cost of living. Also picking up a citizenship in Korea will be very difficult.

Americans overseas are tax exempt up to about 90,000 US if you pay taxes in the country you are a resident of (IRS 2555-EZ). As for your business you are getting taxed by the feds and the state so good luck with location. I think if I had to open a business in the US I would register it in Wyoming to avoid state tax. I don't have that much extra money coming in to open a business yet but I'm thinking about it.

3Speak videos don't lag as much as they used to. I like your videos and positive persona. I just don't like when the video is finished and the algorithm pops in another random video that doesn't match your video at all.

yes I've heard that same thing about the auto video that pops up. hehehe some people are like - what in the world is this video??? hahahaha

Korea - yes we are looking for places that cost of living would be supported by a lower income. (just because I have no idea how well dreemport will do hahahaha)

Wyoming... - yes. state tax is a good plus there. Florida also (which is where my family is from now) but Florida cost of living - also outrageous.

Wyoming would probably be much less - but.... Wyoming. I love rural - but I think Wyoming is on a whole new level of rural hahahahahaha

but as for 3speak - I'm really really enjoying doing more videos now. They always show such great support for my videos!!! and I'm wanting to be an orca by my birthday next year hehehehe so.... every single ounce of help from everywhere helps - and they are not really an ounce of help. they are more like pounds of help hahahahahaha which makes making videos even MORE exciting for me to see how well they support it!

thanks for the advice!!!! and thanks for stopping by to just say hi too hehehe

I never had a desire to be a whale here, but 3speak upvotes are cool.

i don't want to be a whale - but I'd love to be an orca hahahahaa

I was a whale on another platform. it was not as fun as I thought it would be hehehehe

Orcas have lots of upvotes to drop and give smiles -without all the overwhelming responsibility to be "whales"

its like the 21 year olds of life. hehehe just enough "adulting" to have fun and still get away with ridiculous extravagance hahahahahahahahahahahaaha

Malta I heard? Malta is a corrupt country (island) and I do not think crypto is a good reason to change a country. Hope you can earn a little with posting and trading but my richdom (small) came from a real job in which I was good after a lot of years.
For jobs Spain is good if you speak Spanish,

Well, I guess that's the downside about videos hehehe I have to try to condence the last 7 years of thinking into a 7 minute video LOLOL

that is not the ONLY reason why we are considering moving :)

But once the topic was on the table and you're considering moving - you also try to add in all the reasons that would benefit. you know? so... yeah that probably was not expressed well enough in the video. I apologize for that. I'm always working against the clock with videos hehehehee

I had friends that lived in Malta that loved it. But - we lost touch - so maybe it has been changing in the past 2 years - I dont' really know.

We are more focused on Panama for the time being, or Costa Rica. My husband also wants to consider Mexico.

but really just wanted to kinda open this conversation up so that I can get feedback like yours!!! hehehehe i love the conversation and it helps to keep me considering things I didn't before :)

But also - the video didn't really talk much about our crypto project (I have spoken about it on other videos) and that is going to be something a bit different than me just earning through posting. That involves rewarding tokens and ad money and site costs and contracting fees and all that. so - I was wondering if there is a better country that would support THAT type of business. moreso than the US>

thank you for your comment!!! I'm taking it all in, little by little and hoping that as i continue talking about it - I'll start to formulate a more solid plan in my head hehehehehe

but it all comes from people like you being willing to share your ideas and counsel - so truly -thanks! please continue to share hahahaha
