Beach Wednesday new round is active
Glad the new old tag is still welcomed here - appreciate every submission and all entries get some rewards, not only the top 3. Please join our re-vamped contest around the beautiful beaches of our beautiful planet. Read on for the background of this, what we want, the rules and what you can win apart from being recognized as a great photographer. I am using also the #proofofbrain tag moving forward, a tribe I am pretty confident currently to be a great one - i am not sure though what brainy folks think about photography contests.

Given there are so many great submissions I will leave the decision for winners to the previous edition champion @bluemoon - he is a killer photography genius - and as many here with a lot of brain and visual skills - we all are looking forward to your great content.
More background
Guys, I decided to re-vitalize my #beachwednesday with an official bi-weekly contest like #SunThursday. It was about time to do so. The guys that know me from pre-blockchain communities are aware of that photography challenge I invented ages ago. I also introduced this to Steem / Hive early 2017 and was thrilled by all the great people using it posting about beaches around the world. At that time it was a fun photography challenge I curated with my votes and engagement - the lovely @lizanomadsoul took it over to curate after 2 years but we hardly had any posts since one year.
Why a contest now?
Given the #SunThursday contest is now running since nearly 6 months with great submissions, a lovely small community and I often get asked how we can reward great photography on the blockchain I decided to also run a little bi-weekly contest for Beach Wednesday starting NEXT Week, Wednesday, March 3!

To get a feeling about this please search the tag via "recent" here on Peakd / Hive to see many submissions from 2017-2019. Even there was no prize money involved - many people joined as they love to post for fun. This one as well as my SunThursday and DanceWeekend challenges have their special little places in my heart and will always try to submit posts ongoing (sentimental moments lol - I know!).
I still believe these little tags and micro-communities are fun and can connect many people from different regions - kind of small communities. BeachWednesday is not totally new - even before Steemit abd later Hive I hosted this on other platforms. Feel free to keep using the tag and who knows, maybe this will become a Hivemind community soon 😂. I am always delighted to see the great moments and stories you post weekly.
I hope this contest will drive again some engagement around its niche topic and attract photography junkies (amateurs and professionals) to use this blockchain and this tag to show the beauty of our lovely world.
This contest will have some rules, prizes for the winner (hope you read on) are some decent votes from @theycallmedan - so the Top 3 will get some vote between 7.5 to 20% by one of the driving forces behind our blockchain - just as a small hint - a 10% vote currently is worth around $4 aka 20 Hive.

The three best submissions will receive their winner upvotes within one day after the winner post.

Well, I stared at the laptop screen for a long time and didn't know what to write. How to respond to the way you defined me, beyond an ordinary thank you! All I can say is that now I feel that it is worth the four years spent almost daily (with the necessary escapes and events that were over our choice) on this platform. I feel that some of us care about others. I remember that in a period of Steemit's decline, many quality people left the ship. I have suffered for many of them and I still miss some of them. We stayed and I'm really happy about that.
Denise, @dswigle, told me she's here because of you. I wanted to quit three years ago and Denise convinced me to continue! I see a connection and a continuity, something very beautiful, Thank you!
I'm sorry I don't know the beach but I try to rely on intuition, I know you like the Bulgarian Black Sea coast just like me. Can it be from Bulgaria, the Burgas area?
I look forward, with joy but also with some emotion, to judge this edition, which I hope will be so good that I will have big problems with choosing the best ones.

I already feel old, somewhat veteran, like all of us of the same generation (here I mean the moment we entered this platform). I remember the first months in Steemit, I would not have dared to dream that I would become what I am now (ie a man with some experience in blogging).
Aww what a great comment - just realized now - love the story about Denise - I think we knew each other from various social media platforms but i doubt she is here because of me. I am just a little German boy.
Great to see you here still no matter what this Hive / Steem universe failed at. Love the connection mention, there is continuity with some folks I think. I sometimes feel guilty for not being able to create as much content as I would like to given work / life time issues. But to see guys like you makes it worth every second.
