One Love Is All I Need ..
I don’t have a lengthy story to tell you today. This post is a simple one with a simple and tiny painting to go with it. My post is about Love. It’s simply about love. Love is not simple, but I am simply in Love. Love is such a short word but one that has such a huge impact on my life.
I’m not talking about the love that I give but that which I receive.
I am the luckiest guy in the world to be loved by my wife.. and I don’t nearly say that enough. I found my love, one summer, many years ago. Sometimes I don’t know what she sees in me, but I do know that she loves me, because I can see it and feel it. I am hers and she is mine, and we are one. I cherish every single day I get to wake up and see her lying next to me. I am grateful that I get to see her every night when I get home. I don’t think anyone else on earth could love something as much as I love my wife. In turn, I feel her love just as much, every single day.
I thought I would share this tiny little painting.. I painted it last week while home on a break. It was created on a scrap piece of paper that I was about to throw away. I decided to paint two birds perched on a wire high above the world. The birds are seen staring at the sunset while enjoying each other‘s company. This scene envelopes my feelings very accurately.
If there were one last thing in life that I would like to do, if I knew my days were done, it would be to watch one final sunset with my wife, hand-in-hand, in love and as one. I don’t need much more than that.
I’m calling it ‘One Love’.

I have to say a martini sounds good right now! How did I get so stinkin lucky to get such a beautiful woman to love me so much?

Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colors seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”

Very awesome! Funny you bring this up, my wife and I were just talking with her sister and brother in law the other day remember how we met and all of that. She really couldn't stand me at first, but things just worked out and I can't imagine it any other way now. We used to have a small metal piece in our bedroom of two birds on a wire. Sadly one of them fell off and I haven't been able to get it soldered back on, but this reminds me of that.
That is ironic. Also you better break out your soldering gun and solder that bird back on there! That's bad karma! 😆😆😆 just messing around.
No, I thought of that too as I was writing it. I think I did try to solder it on but it wasn't taking for some reason. I might have to try something different...
Sometimes you need to really grind or sand down the area first. They varnish that stuff a lot of the time and that thin coat gets in the way. Good luck!

I feel the same way with my current partner. There's this oozing joy and peace to sleep and wake up next to him. I usually snap photos of him sleeping and stare at it and couldn't help but be grateful for his presence. It's so good to be in love.
