Little Things On A Sublime Sunday Morning

in SublimeSunday3 months ago

It was a beautiful Sunday morning in Bucharest, Romania. It was such a beautiful day that I did what I do almost always on Sundays — a short trip to the city. I live on the outskirts and a trip into the city means a trip to the city center.

This Sunday walk has a purpose and a reason that it happens. My wife goes to church and I accompany her. I accompany her because, besides the spiritual part, which is her interest, the more prosaic and material part follows, which is my interest. Like, for example, cappuccinos made by specialists, i.e. baristas...

Because what do you think? God has set up a little café next to the church. And what's more, it's our favorite coffee shop, The Coffee Shop.

I like the cappuccino at the Coffee Shop because it's good and big. I don't have to order more to get enough, no. My barista friends make me a cappuccino in a mug almost as big as a soup bowl.

This is the author, head barista, if I may say so. Although I'm not sure he's the boss, because even he can't smoke inside...

Every Sunday is the same, so far.
I mean church and coffee.
That's from 9 am till 12 am. Then anything can happen... anything can happen from a walk on the (central) streets of Bucharest.

Sometimes we go to the shops. Another time we go to a bookshop and another time we visit a museum. We do our best to keep Sunday beautiful and even sublime, as our colleague @c0ff33a used to say. Another of our fellow Sunday specialists, @ace108, is "guilty" of the beauty part.

I looked at the flowers on this most recent Sunday.

Next to the cafe are two florists, two downtown florists, so two florists you don't really want to go into.

IMG_20240218_114740.jpg

If you go in, there's a good chance you'll come out the same way you did.
I mean with no flowers.

IMG_20240218_114703.jpg

They're costly! The flowers are special, especially now when they are spring-like but if you don't necessarily want to impress someone, it's best to refrain from buying. That is if you have enough money in your pocket.

I don't like going into a store knowing I won't buy something. I'm ashamed to give false hope to the salesman.

IMG_20240303_115919.jpg

This is one of the reasons why I prefer to look at flowers through the shop window.

IMG_20240303_120649.jpg

The other reason is that I like pictures with reflections... I invite you to take a closer look at all these flower photos and see what's behind them!

IMG_20240303_120610.jpg

I love reflections so much! Each photo seems to be a collage, a collage not made by human hands. It's a joint work of the camera lens and the mirror effect of the windows!

Reflections are like ghosts.

Just as there are ghost movies, there are ghost photographs. In my opinion, photos with reflections are ghost photos.

The owners and sellers of these florists know very well that not everyone can and wants to buy flowers from them, and that people like me don't even go to the florist. So they decided to put flowers outside, on the street, in front of the florist's, to convince, maybe, more people to come into the shop.

Looking costs nothing... yet! I've been enjoying these flowers, especially the spring ones. Nature's rebirth, even if sometimes forced.

Hahahaha, hello brother, I loved your story from the beginning, definitely God wants you to have coffee on Sundays 😅 I really like that you don't just limit yourselves to going to church and your favorite Cafe, but you take advantage of the trip and Sunday to make it a great day, I loved having Sundays like that in the past, but now you are more of having concerts.

I have always admired the pictures you share, even these flowers behind the glass case look great because you have a talent for capturing moments. It's great to visit you, have a happy start of the week!

Thank you! I'm sorry to answer so late...
I don't know why I'm so busy when I shouldn't be.
I try to do at least one day a week a little differently than the others.

Nice swan design on the cappuccino. I guess the big cup will keep you awake of the Sunday

Haha... I have a hard time falling asleep at night.

I have friend, funny guy, he sleep well after coffee. One time he was on a trip with some friends and couldn't sleep and they went out for coffee. After they went back to the room, he slept and the other friends couldn't. 😎

Yes, there are people who react that way, I've seen it myself.

Beautiful Sunday stroll, with good coffee and a walk through this place full of flowers. I love them! So much variety and colour. Fabulous!❤️

It's nice, but I repeat the same thing every week. I think I need to change something. Thank you!

I love it all the same!

You'll come up with ideas!

The coffee looks good and I love the shape drawn on it
I love the pictures of the flowers too

Thank you!

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday. Sunshine, coffee and flowers. It doesn't get much better than that.

Thank you! I feel the same way and I'm happy with these Sundays... How are you, Gillian? Long time no see...

I'm having a bit of a challenging time to be honest. Lots of things we're dealing with but plenty of wonderful moments too so I try my best to focus on the latter.

We are the same way, I think most people go through harder times too. The important thing is that the good moments outnumber the bad ones.

When you get to drink such delicious coffee in the morning, when the day starts well, then the whole day goes well, then Sunday is very special to go for a walk and this is a special place to see a place with a natural view. it looks nice.

That's right, you're right. When something starts well, chances are it will continue to do so.
