I was always a fan of Garrison Keillor and how he wrote a recurring theme on the weekly show A Prairie Home Companion called News From Lake Wobegon. Keillor would always begin with, "Well, it's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegon..." then proceed to tell you the weeks fictional events. That's kind of the template that I use for my Sunday posts, albeit mine is not fictional.
As I have been involved working daily on my lot clearing project for the past few months, the weeks just roll along one after the other with little variation. Basically I get up, I cut wood, I load it into my truck and trailer, I get home and eat, shower, sleep, and repeat. However this week was different because I suffered a quarter pounder. What I mean by that is that a heavy trunk of a large tree that was cutting glances off of my ankle and promptly removed about a quarter pound of my personal leg meat. That left behind a wound about the size of my fist that I promise you, it smarts! On the upside, that is a quick way to lose weight although I recommend not trying to lose much more than a quarter pound at a time. On the downside, and I'm not even going to lie because that did slow me down for a few days. Yes I still went to work on the daily, but winched each step of the way.
The Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday tags are some of my faves! I want to thank @ace108 for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats and supporting the accounts. Also, a shout out to @c0ff33a for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
Note To Self...
I have been saying since the start of this project that I was going to get this job done or die trying. I felt like this week the die trying part was brought to the fore! I feel a certain anxiety about getting this project over and done with because I am fully aware that my clearing the land has brought noise and disruption to the peaceful neighborhood. I want to be a good neighbor so I intend to keep pushing as hard as I can to finish as soon as possible and with the least amount of disturbance.
I can't even imagine a wound like that. Hopefully, you will get better soon.
Oh, damn. That sounds painful.
Hope you get well soon.
Yikes! I think I'll steer clear of that diet fad right there!
Sorry that happened. I guess if you do enough of something physical and dangerous, you have to have something go a little wrong once in a blue moon, law of averages. Maybe now you will be good to go for another 30 years and maybe by then you won't be doing this sort of thing anymore.
30 more years, ha! Some days I feel 3 years will be pushing it!
My goodness, take care!
I loved listening to Garrison Keillor and Lake Wobegon.
Oh cool. Im glad it made it over to you, and that you enjoyed it.
