Hi Photography Community!
I'm super excited to announce the extension of the PhotoFeed project with the new weekly feature "contest". Beside the daily curation round-up's we will now have every week a different theme for our contest. The first week starts with - Landscape
In the past few days I was thinking about a concept on how to reward / chose the winners and I came up with an idea which I will explain below. The focus was on involving the community as much as possible. As it is a test model it can be adjusted and changed at any time.
Rules
"Landscape photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes." - Wiki
- 1 image per user
- Post your image below in the comments
- No nudity
- Only your own original images
Winner Voting
The winners will be voted by the community. You can simply upvote your favorite pictures in the comments (I recommend to use 1% votes as not the value but the number of votes count)
- 3 votes per user
- Min. Rep (50) to vote
- No Selfvotes
- Fair voting (Don't invite people to vote for your image)
Prizes
Photofeed will provide 10 HIVE for every round. The prize pool can increase if people Tip on this post.
Peakd offers the feature to Send tip's for posts. 100% of the tipped Hive on this post will directly go into the prizepool. The more people tip - The higher the prizepool will be.

Can I ask for a reminder post day before pay-out so I can get some votes in? I like the idea but am terrible on follow up if I get busy, and in advance I apologize to any and all who enter on day 7, since I will be trying if I remember to vote on day 6. I enjoy looking at photo's and it does not have to be a 100% professional travel magazine content for me to like it.

I suggest a different approach, since this one will probably see the most votes in the first couple of days. Maybe you could make a Round Up post 7 days after the Announcement using DPoll, which allows for multiple choices?

@dzoji has been using the above method to pick the winners and it seems to be working well so far...

In the Urals, we do not have such high mountains as in the Alps, but the nature in some places is very similar.

Hello everyone! This is my entry. I'm blessed with a wonderful panorama of the western side of my city from my window, and this is one of the most striking sunsets I caught on camera last year. It was starting to rain, you can see the downpour to the left side of the picture.

South America is the perfect location to connect with nature and admire what it as to offer. Everywhere you go, you can see superb landscape. Here in Bolivia, the Laguna Colorada is just perfect.

During that day, 4 seasons alternated in this place. The morning started with winter, winter was replaced by autumn, at noon it was spring and in the afternoon was summer.
That sounds pretty crazy! But a great experience I guess :D

This is a great idea @photofeed, adding extra opportunities for people to display their images. I've voted my 3 favs, but it was hard to make my mind. I'm not much of a landscape photographer, but here's what I consider the closest to one from Lake Titicaca in Bolivia about 11 years ago (2009).

I was thinking (again), coz @trincowski led me to these thoughts: why does the contest need a whole week? Maybe three days is enough? Moreover, it is not necessary to make another contest immediately after the previous one. You can always take a break.

I think the longer it runs the more attention it will get, which will help growing the contest in the long term. But, it's all in test mode now - I think after a few weeks we can figure out what works best :))
