LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS A BED OF ROSES…

Life is full of different experiences and we all have one or two stories to tell about our life experiences.

I am happy to be in year three(3) in the university now and it’s a great achievement for me because very soon I will be done with school and will have to focus on making money and getting some plans that are associated with my growth.

Looking back at a moment In my life when I was seeking admission. The first school I applied to was university of Benin, Nigerian(uniben) and I did their unified Tertiary Examination (utme) but didn’t get to their cut-off mark for the course I applied for which was law then. I was sad and I was not happy with myself that I failed and I didn’t get in. I prepared so well and I have a sleepless night with me having to do away from social media and having fun moments with my friends. After all this, I was not able to get in and I won’t lie seeing that I wasn’t able to get in I was so mad at myself and blame myself for it.

Then a friend of mine who was in another institution sends me some information about her school which is Adeyemi college of university, ondo Nigerian. She told me that the school portal is still available and I can apply for another course there instead of me sitting at home for another year and we have to wait till next year to write another jamb.

At first, I didn’t want to but my mom persuaded me that I should do as the firstborn of the family and that I should not wait till another year so I can graduate early and make it easier for them as I have other siblings they will be paying their school fees.

I applied for the university choosing English language as my course of study but annoyingly I didn’t get admission to that same school quickly and I was already giving up saying maybe God didn’t want me to gain admission that year. My mom prayed for me and she ask me to do the same with her telling me not to give up and that there is hope for me. My mom move on to motivate me that the fact that I didn’t gain admission into that first university I will get admission into the second one I applied for and God has greater plans for me. Like the saying “every disappointment is a blessing”.

Thankfully, my name came out with the fourth batch and I was more than happy. I started studying English and it’s been a great journey for me.

What this story mean to me
It means a lot to me because it taught me how life works. In life, we don’t always get what we want as life is not always a bed of roses. The story has been a great motivation to me to always push forward in life no matter the situation that I am and it doesn’t mean if you fail today you are a failure forever. So, have it in mind that you are born for greatness.

It's not easy to get admission these days, sometimes even when you pass the cutoff mark you still need someone in the upper ups.

 last year

It’s well ooo

That’s how Nigerian is🧐

Mehnn.... admission problem in Nigeria is really annoying, just because of 1 mark, you'll be at home for how many years and when you finally get admitted, you won't be given the course of your choice.

I'm happy you got in and love what you're doing ❤️

It's always a struggle to get admitted but with the right amount of patience it usually comes to fulfillment even where we were not looking.

Yes God always has better plans for us elsewhere.

Thank you.

You wanted to be a lawyer before? You might be the first person I know who has said it out loud they want to be a lawyer.

Oh and you’re a first born too. I can understand the pressure on first born children of African families. You guys don’t get to choose the life you want because the family and your younger siblings always take greater priority in your lives.

I’m glad everything worked out eventually. There’s always a greater plan at play when you don’t get what you prayed for. We just need to have hope and not relent.
