To produce motion power in the form of rotation of the engine, on a motorized engine, whether on a car or motorcycle, several stages of the process are carried out.
Why is it called a four-stroke or four-stroke engine because in one working process the engine or in one engine work cycle requires four piston steps or two crankshaft rotations. The picture below is a working process or how a four stroke engine or 4 stroke engine works.
The principle and workings of a 4 stroke or 4 stroke engine
The following is the sequence of 4 stroke engine piston steps:
Suction stroke to suck the mixture of gasoline / diesel and air into the cylinder when the piston moves down.
Compression stroke in the combustion chamber when the piston moves up. At the end of this compression, the spark plug is ignited, so that the gas burns.
Step Work or expansion is the movement of the piston down because it is pressed by the combustion gases at high temperature and pressure.
Exhaust Step, which removes the remaining combustion gases to the outside of the cylinder through the exhaust valve.
