Even dogs. I've always wondered why bulkier people prefer smaller dogs.
Beyond all this, the sea is still and forever wonderful!
The latest holiday this year is happening right now, in Bulgaria, in Balchik. I mean at the sea. I'm trying a short post, so short because time and conditions only allow me.
I want to explain a few things.
First of all, I want to say that I am a man who, unfortunately, fails to learn from his mistakes... and that's a big mistake!
My passion for the sea made me take my first trip this spring, also to Bulgaria, but to another resort, Sozopol.
There's a saying: "rush spoils the job" Very true!
I arrived too early, before the season when nothing was ready yet to welcome tourists. The place and the sea were very beautiful but the lack of tourists and the fact that most of the hotels, restaurants, and terraces were not yet open gave a bit of a sad picture. Of something that has ended... even though it hadn't even started yet!
As I said, I fail to learn from my own mistakes.
This second trip to the sea is happening right now, when, although the weather is perfect, people in this part of the world already think that the sea season is over.
So once again I am faced with closed hotels, restaurants, and terraces and very few fellow tourists. Empty chairs!
This year I managed to go to the sea once before the season started and a second time after the season closed! I have one consolation, I avoided the killer summer heat and we had some great walks!

I'll say it again and again, I've found that my main activity lately is... walking. Like all of you, I love to walk, but only now I have realized that walking has become my main mode of relaxation. Slowly, slowly overtaking the other pleasures I still have.

No matter that the chairs are empty, it is still peaceful, just lacking the vibe. I am sure that is what you are looking for.
Funny about the walking. I walk more now than I ever have in my life, clocking in up to 7 miles a day. That is a lot for me. I don't go that far every day. Nice shots, Dan! @bluemoon You have a great eye!

I hope to better prepare for next year's vacation and hope there are no undesirable events that prevent the accomplishment. Booking is easy, directly at the hotel.
I recently read a study that says walking is better for your health than jogging, so as many walks as possible! I'm glad you're walking such long distances. We try the same but don't always succeed.
Neither do I, so I like to focus on when I do! Do you ever have a problem getting reservation at the hotel? You wont have anything stopping you next year! The optimistic side of me won't accept that! It's goingvto becan amazing winter, Dan. Wait and see.
I am doing almost 100% walking, although a jog now and then is good for the soul.

A shame about the timing good to miss the peak season with the heat and crowds but off season with everything closed is not ideal

It is strange to see that the season is over there even in the middle of September. I think the season is on till the end of October in Turkiye.
Despite arriving at a season when nothing was ready, I so agree with you that the sea is still and forever wonderful. The view was so relaxing and it was breath taking too. I've been there (on the coast) both before and after peak season, so I know very well how you feel. After the season, the situation is even more oppressive than before the season. But look at it this way: the sea is left only at your disposal! Restaurants, as long as they are open - too. You will get better service everywhere. So, enjoy your vacation! 😊
